The agent requesting this meeting doesnt make sense. His agent is sneaky and pulling some sneaky shit, maybe he is hoping to convince both of them this is whats best for Lebron. The fact that Wade, Spo and Mickey are no longer going to be there tells me something different. If Lebron was going to leave, wouldnt he have the balls to sit down with all of them and tell them. Not tuck tale and let them hear it from Riley?

You ONLY need to talk to Riley. He has already talked to Wade, I guarantee that they are best friends. The only person Lebron needs to talk to the guy responsible for bringing him to Miami, Pat Riley.

Bill Simmons ‏@BillSimmons 40s
I hope LeBron goes back to Cleveland, but that reported 3-teamer happened today only b/c Boston was about to lose that big trade exception

Simmons making that trade all about the Celtics? :L

But, Love already said he will not sign an extension if he's traded 2 Cleveland & that he's not interested in playing in Cleveland long term unless LBJ is already there.

Link?

That was in regards to going to a Cleveland team that didn't include LeBron.

It has been reported by a couple sources that Love would absolutely be willing to re-sign in Cleveland if LeBron was there. Who knows if that's really true... but its hard for me to imagine that its not.

I would love to be in that room with Riley, to hear what he says to Lebron.

It could be, but Lebron has a good enough relationship with Riley to be able to call him himself and discuss this, not have to go through his agents to tell him he is leaving.
Well do you need 2 be reminded of the 1 hour "decision"???

Lebrons' agent is listening to Lebron. He is Lebron's butch, cmon people. He works for him, anything he does it's bc Lebron tells him to.

I dont agree with he ONLY needs to talk to Riley, Mickey and Spo were a part of it as well. I can understand Wade, maybe he has already told him. But if Im wade and he told me he was leaving, i would feel betrayed. Lebron owes it to Mickey as well, he is the one whose been signing his paychecks.

If the agent contacted Riley to set up the meeting... maybe that spells bad news for the Heat. I suppose it is easier to call someone in person to give them good news than it is to give them bad news.

That's a lot of speculation, though.

I wonder if Lebron isn't too happy with Riley (even if he's planning on going back to the Heat) for essentially calling him out and isn't too thrilled about being in a 1-on-1 conversation with him?? :noidea:

Oh of course...i think what Love was saying is that LBJ would have 2 sign there first...then he would sign his extension & I can't say that I blame him. Otherwise, Cleveland could promise they will get LBJ but in the end don't deliver & Love is stuck in Cleveland alone.

Betrayed, bc they won 2 titles and went to Finals 4 years. Appreciate it and I'm sure Wade does.

I wonder if Wade has a verbal deal in place with Riley that if LeBron doesn't come back he gets a max?

That would be the only thing that Wade could feel betrayed about, IMO. If he opted out to entice LeBron to stay and then LeBron leaves and then he's out some $$$.

I just think that if LeBron leaves it'll be with mutual understanding from Wade. "I'm gonna stay and get my last big payday, you go find a good situation to win, we had a good run" type of thing.

Agree...I think this was always in the cards and the loss to the Spurs sealed it. If the Heat won, Lebron would have opted in for one more year. This seems to have been planned for quite some time.

Oh, I see what you're saying. Yeah, if Love and LeBron are both absolutely unwilling to commit without the presence of the other then the Cavs would have to pull off some almost-simultaneous verbal-deal trickery.

They'd have to get it setup verbally with Minnesota and Love first. "LeBron is ready to come, but we need assurance that we can pull the trigger on this deal once its official".

Then to LeBron, "Ok the deal is ready to go. Once you announce your intent to come to Cleveland we'll put the deal through right away".

Riley's press conference and what he said about exit interviews after the finals were very telling. He played the only card he had as I really think a decision had already been made by Lebron and his group. Been a great run regardless and much fun for 4 years. I am not sure he wins a title in Cleveland but if he goes there, then I am sure he will do his best!

What position does salary cap play? And does it run zone defense?

Cap space is all good and well, but dumping players is risky if your player you dumped for doesn't arrive.

Not risky at all. The only way Cleveland is in the conversation is if they sign LeBron. Who cares if they win 30 or 35 games?
