I was thinking... if LeBron signs a 1 or 2 year deal with the Heat... I'm not so sure Bosh rushes back to Miami.

If I were him I wouldn't want to commit to the Heat for longer than LeBron, if I'm leaving a 4 year max with the Rockets on the table.

I also wouldn't want to sign a 1 or 2 year deal with the Heat.

While LeBron is all but guaranteed to still command a Max contract 2-4 years from now... Wade, Bosh, and Carmelo are not, IMO. They are all gonna want 4-5 year deals, not knowing what their market value will be in 3 years or so.

I hope LeBron goes back to Cleveland, but that reported 3-teamer happened today only b/c Boston was about to lose that big trade exception

I think Lebron only goes to Cleveland if they have a deal in place to bring in someone else.

If not......I just can't see it. But I guess we'll all find out eventually.

The fact that LeBron agent is the one who requested the meeting seals the deal.....nothing to see here fellas

The problem with this is Minny has already gotten better trade offers with teams Love has said he'd sign with and turned them down.

Love isn't going to limit his options to Cleveland, that's for certain. So all that pontificating was for nothing.

The problem is Love wants out and Flips knows, it won't help keeping him. Getting a #1 pick you can build around is a great start to rebuilding, add 2 defensive guys on the post for defensive and rebounding who can get you a double double every night. Then you add Waiters that potentially is a scoring machine (could average 25 if he starts), then you add 1st round picks. Sounds too good to be true.

:agree: This is why Melo 2 the Lakers or Knicks makes the most sense. Lakers have offered $97 mil over 4 years & only the Knicks can offer him more.

As far as LBJ...why would he want to sign a 4 year deal in Miami and be stuck with Wade whom is already on the decline & proved last season he won't be much help when they really need it?

LeBron is definitely leaving after what I just read

Damn LeBron leaving Miami! Don't he know that this will completely kill the Heat Haters Club thread?

It's obvious that the cap space was cleared for the purpose of signing Lebron. Doesn't matter how the front office is trying to spin it. They gave up first round picks (players and future picks) to clear that space. If they don't get Lebron, yes they still have the cap space which isn't necessarily a bad thing. But they did it for Lebron, not for some flexibility down the road.

I just read that the meeting today with Riley, was requested by lebrons agent, not by Lebron or Riley... what could that possibly mean? This agent seriously has his own agenda and should be fired. Who else does he represent? Is it possible he is doing all this knowing Lebron doesnt want to go there? That way when he chooses elsewhere he can say to the cavs, i have these guys who you can sign.

Eric Bledsoe.

If this is true, his agrnt and Lebron knew when they talked to Cleveland that's where he wanted to go. They have to have something up their sleeve after Lebron joins.

The same thought crossed my mind, and that is Riley's out with Bosh if he's trying to create one.
He simply tells Bosh that he wont give him an opt out until after 4, like this 1st contract.

It's possible he's requested a meeting with Riley on behalf of LBJ...

The agent requesting this meeting doesnt make sense. His agent is sneaky and pulling some sneaky shit, maybe he is hoping to convince both of them this is whats best for Lebron. The fact that Wade, Spo and Mickey are no longer going to be there tells me something different. If Lebron was going to leave, wouldnt he have the balls to sit down with all of them and tell them. Not tuck tale and let them hear it from Riley?

Its hard to remember that people are making multi-million dollar decisions effecting where they live, who they work with, where children go to school, the happiness of their families, etc when you just want them to make up their minds already.

In the moment it feels like an eternity... but a few months from now it won't matter whether LeBron and Melo had made their decision on July 1st or whether they wait until July 20th.

But, Love already said he will not sign an extension if he's traded 2 Cleveland & that he's not interested in playing in Cleveland long term unless LBJ is already there.

It could be, but Lebron has a good enough relationship with Riley to be able to call him himself and discuss this, not have to go through his agents to tell him he is leaving.

It's possible he's requested a meeting with Riley on behalf of LBJ...

Exactly. Until I have any reason to believe otherwise... I have to believe that the most powerful free agent in the NBA is in complete control of what his agent is doing. If Rich Paul is doing something in regards to LeBron's free agency... its because LeBron instructed him to do so.
