how long is Johnson's contract...can we go after Shaka??
Huh? I don't know anyone who talks about VCU sports other than their basketball team. They upset about the prospects of Shaka leaving?
I think that could be one thing. I actually got ranted by two different VCU people (I work with one and have another friend- I'm in Richmond). It was really a hodgepodge of hate and self victimization. VCU doesn't get respect. They should be in the Big East (although it wasn't clear which version) or ACC. Something about Mason and ODU. Random UVa-VT hate. Louisville is overrated and Kansas is gonna get crushed. "UCLA is a glorified footnote in basketball history" by one. Something about NC State and UNC money wise. Somehow Boise State football was mentioned somewhere in there. It was very much "where did that come from?"
FWIW, there is a lot less yellow around RVA right now.
Their runs in the tourney have gotten to their heads a bit and a lot of them think they are a top 15 team when they aren't.
I'll definitely agree with that. I guess the silver lining is that there's atleast a little buzz and college feel in the area. In part, more of the city have gotten less shitty too.

Sounds like JMU is about to jump to D-1A and join the Sun Belt like App St. & Georgia Southern.
“IF YOU MISSED IT elsewhere this week – and all I did was tweet it – here’s what Virginia quarterback Phillip Sims had to say about his No. 3 spot on the Cavaliers’ depth chart.
I don’t know nothin’ about how it came that way or what’s going on,” Sims said, “but it is what is, man. If I can’t be me, I’ve got to be as close as I can … [but] it really looks like it’s headed in the opposite direction.”
There has been speculation that Virginia was sending a message to Sims about his conditioning but he said that “the offseason went as good as could have hoped for, so I don’t think it was that. It’s a long story.”
Normally, I’m a conspiracy theorist but I think Sims’ spot on the depth chart may have more to do with the two guys in front of him – redshirt sophomore David Watford and redshirt freshman Greyson Lambert.
This is Watford’s third spring and Lambert’s second spring (both were January enrollees) and UVa would not want to lose either one of them. This is the best way, at this point, to deliver the message that both figure prominently in the Cavaliers’ plans.
