Interesting story on Jared Goff, Cali. Thus far the best college QBing I've seen this year has come from the Pac 12. Cody Keesler of USC and Josh Rosen of UCLA (true freshman) I'm gonna have to check out Goff as well. He sounds a little like he might be in a Matt Ryan at BC his Sr year situation, but having more personal success. Though Ryan's college career served him well for the NFL I think.

The Comeback Kid (won two games in a row on last play of game) playing for BYU presently seems intriguing as well. Apparently at some uber-competitive QB camp for high schoolers. He and Jameis Winston were co-MVPs. Winston went to FSU and the BYU kid went on his Mormon mission for 2 years in Peru I think they said. Where due to mission rules, he could only work out a half-hour a day and had two opportunities a year to skype with his folks/people back home. Christmas and Mother's Day.

Hey you Maryland peeps! Mostly meaning Dave as I know he went there.

Watched the Terps game today. Couple thoughts I had...

Good grief those new unis are still ugly as shit and whack as hell.

Am I trippin or despite Maryland not being very good ever year. Do they always seem to have one or two players who look really good to go on to the NFL and be good to great players?

Congrats, Dave.

Dexter has a unique and interesting story. He used to breakfast at one of my favorite places in Bethesda, Tastee Diner. Wore a lot of gold, was huge, brash and a bit loud. Pretty friendly and often revealing some funny football antics. Pretty much what you would expect :)

Huge Dexter Manley fan. When I was a kid growing up in Herndon, Va. I used to deliver the "observer" to his house, and on occasion get to hit tennis balls with Dex and his wife at the courts near our neighborhood.

Did he have drug issues? Sure he did just like many of his peers in the early to mid 80's. But as a man, was as genuine as there is. And damn, the drive from Herndon to Bethesda seems like a long way to go to eat breakfast...that place must be awesome!

More like an iconic greasy spoon! Old school style with the flat grill guy sporting a cig behind his ear and old silver head waitresses who'd been there 100 years...but the peeps that are found to be dining there are as real a group as can be found in that 'now chi-chi' refurbished town. Some true characters. When I go home, I always visit and hang at the counter, shoot the shit about sports...and it's always the Skins (who gives a F about the Ravens...)

After college (Radford U) and moving to Florida, I became familiar and fell in love with a "greasy spoon" breakfast spot as well...it's called the Waffle House!...grits, scrambled eggs, raisin toast and bacon are the bomb. You yanks and California transplants do know what grits are, right?

I didn't realize you were in Cali Breed. Where down South? I'm up near San Luis Obispo myself.

One of my all time favorite Redskins. What a great athlete and I think a player that sums up Jimmy Johnson. How did Dexter make it through 3 or 4 years in college without being able to read. Johnson was his coach at Oklahoma State.

Manley always reminded me of a kid who wanted to do the right thing but just wasn't capable of it. He sure was a lot of fun to watch. I want to see that TV show about him.

Barstow? The town that time forgot. A HS friend of mine moved to Apple Valley, had a blast riding dirt bikes around that open desert.

Heh. Yeah, When you tell someone you live in Barstow you usually get a "WTF! Is there anything there." or "Really? I stop there to get gas or something to eat on my way to Vegas."
