i went with domestic violence. brandon marshall, ray rice, greg hardy, that 49ers dude. seems like players are doing this more often these days. it doesnt matter if its on camera or not.
now if the girl falsely accused them then she is the worst person in the world.

People arent doing it MORE. Its just that now we live in a world of 24/7 instant news on any and every thing. Just like there arent suddenly more freaks doing things to kids, or idiots with guns that shouldnt have them. 50 years ago if a guy slapped his wife who happened to be famous, you might have heard about it two states over. Now with the web, satalite and twitter, some one living in a hole in the wall in Siberia gets instant updates on the SAT Phone.

Oh I agree. But in the moment Im doubting Ray was thinking straight. Funny how they dont mention she took a swing at him before they got on the elevator, or that she was lunging at him when he swung. I guess it just irritates me to see the double standards and how any injustice has to be totally over compensated for in this country to a point where people who didnt or likely never would have gave a crap have to be lumped in and punished to make a few vocal minority feel better about themselves in the end.

Rice released a statement today saying he was bombed and gave up hard liquor so I don't doubt he wasn't thinking straight.

What bothers me about this is the late reaction. There is nothing in that video that we didnt already know. We knew he knocked her out, we just didnt see it on video until now. Nothing changed with the facts of what he did or what anyone thought he did. It just now the PC police are talking about it and demanding something be done, like it was all new stuff. What a bunch of BS. Where were they 6 months ago? Its like the ISIL beheading video. I dont need to see it to know what happen, I dont need to see it to be outraged and demand justice.

I do think what he did is horrible, and he needs to be suspended, but 1 yr is a bit much. Just a reaction to "their image". But if you think about it, the harsh punishment will hurt these women more than help them. They will be less likely to come forward now. Abused women live in fear. Well add the fear of losing their money ticket and she will not report it. Add the fact of the anger he will have for getting suspended and how much she will fear him for that. This will not help abused women at all. Should be a shorter suspention, like 4 games and manditory treatment.

Again I will simply state. If he came out and cold cocked her for no reason, yes thats abuse and she was a victim.

If as it appears to any rational person, she egged him on and did things to spark a violent reaction from him... she started a fight.

I dont agree with the way he ended it, but I get tired of the poor helpless victim of domestic violence crap when some one starts this crap looking for the exact reaction they eventually get.

honestly, i was against the idea at the time ...
