The position of his hands on a few of his catches were a little off causing less than a clean grab. Nothing big at all - but not nearly as smooth as Moss or Crabs.

after watching it again i see exactly what you are talking about

Manningham was nagging everything. I didn't see what he did that looked iffy. He was catching them so well he was throwing them behind his back right to the ball boys.

Crabtree Making Off-Season Strides

Not a big Crabtree fan (not a hater, either), but I know I'd be posting this if it were about anybody else. So got to post it here.

Check-in on Fast Evolving Offense

Lots of talk about Moss but also Baalke talks about possible Anthony Davis move to Right Guard. Didn't he play that in college?

Don't think so. At least not in his junior year; he played LT then.

LOL, that's what I get for listening to some guy on a message board (different one).

Well I'm not 100% sure, so don't condemn his statements yet. I don't know what position he played as a Freshman & Sophmore.

Here is the video of today's gauntlet drill:

Offense vs. Defense

Takeaways:

Moss' hands have reported for duty - I could watch him catch passes all day!
Crabtree's hands looked very good as well!
Manningham looked a little iffy?

The defense including Willis all looked good

The one eye-sore was at 2:44

Enjoy:

49ers Gauntlet Drill Offense vs Defense_5-1-2012

Just to add, if anyone is getting a choppy video feed I find if I set the video to full screen the video runs real smooth.

What was sore about 2:44?

I think he did log some time at RG before moving over to LT

An uncontested practice slant thrown high & behind Moss. I'll grant some leeway for chemistry, but Smith needs to put those passes in the basket.

I'm very encouraged by what I saw at 2:44. I've been wanting a big WR with a large catching radius for a reason. Smith and his tendency to be inaccurate. There was some quote from Smith where he was jocking Moss for making his throws look better when they are off.

Man this WR battle is going to be a fun one to watch this offseason along with RB.

Moss will definently make this team i believe.

LMAO!!! Touche, Ray_Dogg. Well played! - Nicely done! Yep, I guess I kind of "glass half emptied" my perspective. Looking at it through your lens, I could not agree more with your point of view - lesson learned.

(Although somewhere inside me I still want to give Alex the proverbial WTF look)
