Patrick Michael Doyle son of Sean Patrick Doyle couldn’t help but wonder what brought him to Houston Texas and couldn’t help but wonder how he would adjust. Growing up in Quigley’s Point in County Donegal the move to Houston was overwhelming for most of the family but Sean Patrick assured his family there would be no need to worry, he was confident he could secure the families future with this move. His wife Mary was not so sure and would not go quietly, as is the case with most Irish wives they wanted to be heard, which was mostly a front for the neighbors, in the end Mary was always compliant stubborn but compliant. Patrick Michael was livid and refused to speak to either parent, feeling betrayed and forced to leave his life behind he no longer wanted anything to do with the family. If time heals all wounds it would take more time then Sean and Mary Doyle had left.
Sean Patrick traveled a lot at least a lot more than most people of Quigley’s Point, so moving just seemed like another travel arrangement. Michael fancied himself a fisherman but by trade he was a machinist with the innate ability to fix most anything. The family lived comfortably on wages earned from assorted projects Sean took on always being paid in cash. A little went to the local church, a little more to his favorite pub the Spotted Owl and none went to the tax collector.
Mary was a housewife and caretaker, she also volunteered at the local church every Wednesday and Thursday mostly just prepping for Sunday Mass. She was a fine seamstress and made pocket change mending clothes and making quilts. Her quilts were of the highest quality and she never had any problems selling them at the craft fares in Northern Ireland. As much as she hated to leave, she stood behind her man and off to Texas they went. Assuming of course Sean Patrick had already secured work as a machinist.
