Yeah, seems like there have been a few teams with middling offenses but great defenses. Payton's Broncos come to mind, Trent Dilfer's Ravens, Eli's GiantsGood question. Many had weak offenses but good defenses.
Mahomes when they beat the Eagles a couple seasons ago did not have great offensive talent, but they had a pretty good D.
I don't have any great suggestions off the top of my head TBH.
The Ravens that beat the Niners in the Harbowl had a lot of older players on it. 10th best offense, 12th best defense. Got lucky against the Broncos and just edged out Kaepernick.
That said, it's still probably the 2nd SB the Giants had against the Pats.
I'll be damned if that wasn't the same team I was thinking of after reading this thread. Congrats on beating me to it!My nominee… the Baltimore Colts in 1970. Take your pick of Unitas or Morrall - that damn offense was putrid.
Craig Morton throwing the ball directly to Mike Curtis still stings...I'll be damned if that wasn't the same team I was thinking of after reading this thread. Congrats on beating me to it!
This was of special interest to me because I worked summer camp with those guys.My nominee… the Baltimore Colts in 1970. Take your pick of Unitas or Morrall - that damn offense was putrid.

That 2008 Steelers team may have been the worst OL to win a Super Bowl.
- The 5 worst offenses to win a Super bowl were: 2008 Steelers 20th, 2015 Broncos 19th, 2002 Buccaneers 18th, 1990 Giants 15th, 2000 Ravens and 2007 Giants were tied for 5th worst at 14th.
A Patriots fan cannot ever complain about luck... I was having great day until that Giants v Pats brought up..... Lucky ass hell there for sure!!
Dont think you can just go by the worst offense. Since the question was weakest team around the QB. If you have an all star QB that carries his offense. That team may not have the worst offense. but crappy support.

Good point. That's why one can't automatically say Trent Dilfer, because those Ravens had a great defense.Dont think you can just go by the worst offense. If a QB sucks you can have way better talent around him yet it is because of a Qb is why the offense sucks.
So IMO you cant go off a black & white stat to make your decision.
There are morons out there whose logic dictates that Brad Johnson is better than Dan MarinoI hate Brad Johnson
Giants defense was legit back then…Of all the Super Bowl winning teams, which Super Bowl winning quarterback had the weakest team around him?View attachment 391814
