I love football in the snow. I remember watching on TV a Washington State home game in a blizzard many moons ago. I was in Ames for the Nebraska blizzard game so many years ago and we sat on the top deck on the far North side - that was cold!

My car broke down on the way to that game in ames. Popped a frost plug. Ruined the whole day.

I was up there in Minny in January. How the hell can you live up there in that arctic cold?

Looks like lots of rain has been falling and will likely be coming down during the entire game.... If this becomes a "pound the rock" type of situation, I hope our defense comes to play and I hope our RB corps stays healthy.

How can Minnesota be 28th in total defense, yet have given up 21, 35, 32, 31, and 17 points?

Cupcake schedule, but with every team scoring on them and three teams scoring more than 30 points, just confusing.

nebraska is 61 in total defense but has played Ohio State given up 21, 34, 8, 38, 10 and the Ohio State 48.

If you discount the Ohio state game, it gives us 5 games each of more equal opponents. Granted, I still think of those opponents, ours were even slightly better. Our points allowed is a 5 point advantage after discounting the OSU game. I'm sure every other stat imaginable is also better for us as it seems. No sense at grasping at straws to see who the better team is, I'm still convinced we're better, but I guess we'll see tonight. I hope our O line comes out with something to prove after all the press surrounding them.

Corso and Herbstreit both picked Nebraska.

Desmond picked Minnie.

Total defense is calculated by yards and points given up together

Spread opened up Minnie (-6.5), went to (-8) and even (-8.5) in a couple books where it spent all week.

Started falling yesterday to (-7.5) and now down to an even (-7) this morning.

Late money likes Nebraska.

HA.

Huskers trailed Illinois on the road 7-21 just 16:30 into the game. It was one of their patented Riley 'fall way behind early' kind of games. They had 4 turnovers. Heck, they hadn't won a road game in 23 months. Riley's last season.

With that shit stacked against them, they won the last (43:30) by a score of 35-17.
It took Minnesota 60 minutes to put 40 on Illinois in Minneapolis.

Wisconsin beat Michigan by 21 pts (35-14). They beat Northwestern by just 9 pts (24-15). Both games in Madison.
The Badgers have beaten their other 3 opponents by a combined 158 - 0. An average 52 - 0.

I'd favor Northwestern over Minnesota by at least 3.

Offense won't be pretty. Even so, Blackshirts bring the chair home 28-24.
.

Wisconsin 38-0 over Michigan St.
Yeah Mich St offense is bad, but their defense isn't.

Bashers are first Big 10 team to pitch 4 shutouts in first 6 games since 1962.
(Minnesota)

Wisconsin is Ohio St level.

The Husker Northwestern win was better than most think. Nebraska's struggling offense has been the story line, but the blacksirts have been quietly playing pretty well.
