Do they make cars that run on milk? It's now cheaper.

I'm looking into buying a hybrid car now. My commute is ridiculous.

Not a hybrid but I bought a spacious Nissan Cube which gets 28/30 MPG and my commute is less than 2 miles :)

I don't want to get too political, and I certainly realize there are many many reasons for the spike in gas prices- but the USA has a shit-ton of oil and its amazing so many in this country ban us from not drilling our own land for it. I am not very partisan and most political issues I can generally see both sides, but the left wing energy / environmental policy is absurd IMHO, and it hurts the poor and lower class.

I've been looking at the Honda CR-Z, but I'd like to not take on a high car payment. I'll look into it more at the end of the summer when I will be shopping. The CR-Z gets like 31/39 mpg.

I was looking at a hybrid a few years back when I bought my current car, but then I realized after you spend money on the battery etc, hybrid owners don't save that much money in the end. However with gas prices this high, it probably would have made that investment look better.

Man, those things look quite quirky when I see them on the road, but Nissan does make a quality product.

For under 20K, you can get a 2011 Hyundai Elantra (roomier and cheaper than most hybrids, and not a hybrid) which gets 29/40.

I used to nickname cars based on the type of driver that generally is in them.

Lincoln Towncar = Boxcar
Oldsmobile = Geezermobile
Cadillac = Cattlefuc = Clusterfuc
SUV = Stupid User Vehicle
Hummer = Dummer

I love SUV's... Way too heavy on gas though. I'd love to grab a Tahoe or something. Fuck that though.

I like the Toyota FJ a lot as well, but I think practicality needs to prevail over what I'd like. 17-21 mpg is just not good enough.

Then Jeff, the Cube is a good compromise to an SUV...if you can get past the styling...interior is nice.
