well thats it for Churches for me...

ooofff

between Gilmore and Willingdon on Lougheed in Burnaby , next to the Staples ...there is an asian kid who spins sandwich board signs for Churches ... very talented chap

went up and talked to him once and he gave me his life story ... has Aspergers (mild autism), has been in lots of trouble with the law, sandwich board spinning saved his life ... now he goes to world championships

When I was a kid my favorite Chicken place was Pioneer Chicken. Unfortunately they don't exsist anymore.

I've never been to Church's or Popeye's so I can't judge, but I've never been a fan of KFC.

I already love Chick-fil-a but your misguided hatred for them only makes me like them more!

They didn't exactly lose business from me when I read about their connections to bigotry. I think I've eaten there once.

Not to derail the thread, but I just found your post to be ironic. You mentioned Christian bigotry and then said that was being redundant. So basically you are calling every single Christian a bigot. You're putting them all in a tight, little boxed based on your own biases. That makes you a bigot yourself. I'm not a holier-than-thou type person but that just rubs me the wrong way. I consider myself a Christian (maybe not a very good one) and I have very close friends who happen to be gay. Just because some one doesn't believe in gay marriage doesn't mean they are a bigot. People can have opposing pov's and still be good friends. That's the end of my little rant. Don't want to derail the thread with a religious/gay rights/whatever thread.

1) It was a joke of a generalization, but this is one of those statements that I hate. There are good sides and bad sides if people stop being so PC. Not everyone's viewpoint, beliefs, etc should be equally respected if they are harming others. For example, it doesn't make me a bigot to hate the KKK. I tend to err on the side of the people not denying other's their civil rights, but that's just me. As much fun as I think it would be to deny rights to every person I didn't like or agree with, I don't really attempt to.

2) I know good Christians. Unfortunately, the ones they let speak for them are the ones saying all gay people are going to burn in hellfire and teaching their little Christian brats to drive gay kids to suicide through bullying.

3) I'm sure your good gay friends are thrilled at the idea that you wouldn't support their civil rights (if you're implying that you're one of the ones who doesn't believe in it). It's so nice that heterosexual people can find it in their hearts to be friends with homosexual people, you know as long as they don't have to think about icky buttsex or what their magical skyfriend would think about them for actually being tolerant people.

and i don't care if they're bigots. eating their chicken hasn't turned me into a bible thumping, heathen-loathing, gay-hating, clinic-bombing psychopath with a cross burned into my forehead...nope, i hate all kinds of people but only of my own choosing.

Hahaha. I wasn't implying everyone should boycott them. I highly doubt not eating a chicken sandwich is going to make a difference in the fight for gay rights. People were talking about their Christianity and I was merely injecting some information into the proceedings.

You don't seem to have a firm grasp on irony, I see. Going solely by your comments on this thread you don't seem to be a very tolerant person.

Tolerant doesn't mean I have to agree with you.

But making a mocking remark is not the same as killing you, hurting you, bullying your children, denying you your civil liberties, denying adopted children safe, loving homes, etc.

But hey, you're not the first person to trot out the cross when it comes to this argument. You know, poor Christians.

Sometimes people get upset when children are killing themselves all over the country. It can strike in you empathy for the children and anger at the people who cause it.
