Oh, I see.....he lost a flip flop, but he still had the other one, some rope, and a coat hanger. If he was MacGyver, he could of built a boat from that to get his ass out of there.

Wow, that is intense, stupid by the tourist to stay in that position, but very intense to see that. Along the area of coast I live by in california they cleared the beach around 10am, and there was some moderate receding of the tide, but the waves weren't anything close to what Hawaii had. They closed the elementary school that is in my neighborhood too.

In some of the local harbors nearby they had dangerous conditions reported. Obviously currents that were much stronger than normal, although i haven't heard of any extensive damage.
