I suppose anything can happen but isn't this week supposed to be a mini polar vortex? If that comes and goes it should be manageable. 20s isn't terrible if you're dressed for it or if you're drunk.

I hope it is blowing wind and snow. That would be epic. No postpone due to weather bullshit either. This is football not baseball.

I hope they get some real NYC weather. A few weeks ago we had weather in the mid 50's on the weekend.

I don't want to see a blizzard but I do want to see a game in the mid teens-high 20's with at least 15 MPH wind and a little snow also.

More than likely it will be under 30 just for the fact that the game starts after 6 PM and the nighttime high is always much lower than the daytime high.

I don't think it is ever too cold to have a good game. In GB a few weeks ago, it was 0 degrees and that was probably one of 3 best games of the playoffs. What ruins your chances is a blizzard or heavy downpour

From the way too early look at the weather they are forecasting it to be around 40 and sunny in New York. But again predicting weather 2 weeks out is just ridiculous to even try.

That is probably the daytime high though which means the nighttime high will probably be in the high 20's if you're lucky

Well looking at the hourly report the weather only drops about 5 degrees from the high to the time kick off would happen so that would put it mid 30's. Either way it is going to be cold. Both teams play in cold climates so I don't see that being a big deal.

Seattle isn't that cold. I would love to know how many games they played in under 30 degree weather the last 2 seasons

I lived in Seattle for 2 years and it does get plenty cold. Maybe not down to the freezing temperature that they will maybe see in the Super Bowl but let's not act like they are practicing in Sunny San Diego here.

Seattle and of course, Denver, are no strangers to cold weather. But I find it funny that the first cold weather game features 2 teams from the western divisions for the first time in 19 years. My wish of Arizona vs San Diego just didn't work out.

I would love for a driving snowstorm to put a damper on Manningpalooza, but I'm sure we'll be nauseated by his image until then. I think I'll just avoid all the pregame hype and tune in when they're ready for the coin toss.

I believe I've heard, with all modern technology and everything that is available today, the furthest into the future they can accurately predict the weather is 5 days. After that they are essentially guessing, so ignore any weather reports you hear until Super Bowl week.

as a Manning fan the thing that scares me most is high speed winds. those have a bigger effect on timing/ability to throw down field than the cold... the cold thing is way overplayed by the media.

if its windy and its hard to throw downfield that makes seattle's life a lot easier and will make it hard for denver to move the ball at all.

Bingo! People need to not look at the temperature. Saw a break down the other day of games under 40 degrees that Peyton has played in during his career and statistically he has done fine. He actually over the last 10 of them has over a hundred quarterback rating. Heck earlier this year against the Titans (who do have a good secondary) lit them up for 400 yards and 4 touchdowns and that was in cold conditions. Now the game against San Diego there were 40 mph winds so the Broncos couldn't take the deep shots limiting some of their passing game. If it is windy (which it very well could be) then that is advantage Seattle.
