Flake would have found a way to screw it up anyway.
He’s not a very good developmental guy. Six years ago, 2017/18 98 points loss in R1, 2018/19 71 points no PO, 2019/20 (short season) 64 points no PO, 2020/21 (short season) 49 points no PO, 2021/22 99 points loss in R1, and this year I seriously doubt that they will make the PO. In his first season as GM the team made the playoffs but really it wasn’t his team, but what was left over from DL. Last year was they overachieved. This year the Kings are playing at the level that I expected them to play. Flake just isn’t capable as a GM and it’s wishful thinking on my part to think that they will win the cup again anytime soon. I don’t believe that it will happen if Blake is running the show and McLellan is coach.
