I'm starting to like the Vikes draft now.

2.25 : Gabe Jackson - OG - Mississippi St.
3.21 : Ego Ferguson - DT - LSU
3.25 : Yawin Smallwood - ILB - Connecticut

I'm not a fan of that trade. Not that it wasn't fair but feel you could have waited a few more rounds for the 29th best CB. Also Smallwood doesn't impress me but decent value late in 3rd round. The first 3 picks are good selections I feel. Overall I grade it a C+ draft.

Am I up yet...... weekend drafting sucks. However I did learn that I could fly to Virginia from Florida, spend 4 day showing off the kid and having a baptism today and my pick only came up once.

You think thats bad? my dog had puppies (twice) had a career change and grew a ponytail!!!:yahoo:

29th ranked CB? Where the hell did you come up with that?. Why doesn't Smallwood impress you? Hopefully you aren't saying that based on whatever info you got that showed Gaines as the 29th ranked CB.

Phillip Gaines

Gaines was another star of the Combine who used the opportunity to really help his draft stock. He blistered the 40-yard dash and did well in the field drills, so he used the Combine to his advantage to command more attention from teams. The senior recorded 36 tackles with four interceptions and nine passes broken up in 2013. In 2012, he had 33 tackles with 18 passes defended. Gaines clearly has a nice combination of size and speed. It isn't surprising that his stock has climbed in the lead up to the 2014 NFL Draft.

Good work ethic and a team-first guy with the right priorities.
two-year team captain. Four-year starter (45 career starts) with experience in both man and zone coverage and holds the school record for career passes defended (42).

I miss counted on my excel sheet. ESPN has Gaines #16. Also I have seen some UCONN games (TV) and I remember seeing Smallwood not wrap up some defenders. It could have been just the games I saw and not a full evaluation of his true ability.

What happened to Carolina? If he's not interested I may offer my 4th and 5th to anyone in the 3rd until my guy is gone.

Miscounted? 29th to 16th, quite the miscount. Both WalterFootball and cBS have him goin anywhere from the 2nd round to the 4th. And after his combine his stock is on the rise.

Smallwood will be a good player, he's ranked the 3rd best ILB on cBS and 7th on WF.

Smallwood was a consistent force for Connecticut over the past three seasons. In 2013, he was one of the nation's leaders in tackles with 111. Smallwood also picked up 7.5 tackles for a loss, eight passes broken up, two sacks, one interception and two forced fumbles. Against Michigan, he almost led an upset win with 13 tackles, one sack, another tackle for a loss and a forced fumble.

With the NFL increasingly turning towards the pass, inside linebackers generally drop on draft day. Smallwood's intriguing traits, however, could make him an exception to the rule.

Smallwood has a very productive resume with 36 starts and 332 total tackles the past three years and is pro-ready.

I really like Gaines and had him targeted for the Ravens with of their comp picks in the 4th round. I wasn't completely sure, but I thought he would be there. I'm missing the boat on WRs and CBs thus far.

I use cBS, Walterfootball and NFL.com

I have never used ESPN and probably never will. Just a personal preference.

I'm not offended or anything I just think after the combine ranking him 29th is a joke.
