Boston's Zdeno Chara, Detroit's Nicklas Lidstom and Shea Weber of Nashville are the finalists for the Norris Trophy, given annually to the NHL's top defenceman. It's Weber's first nomination, while it's the 11th in 13 seasons for six-time winner Lidstrom. Chara has been a finalist three of the past four years

Those are three worthy candidates, but I would go with Weber as well. Lidstrom would be a very close second.

Chara just needs to sacrifice a newborn and the trophy is his.

I'm going with Lidstrom, but will be very pleased if Weber wins...

Wow. Losing Sid/Geno really killed Letang, who was being written in quite early this season.

I'd like to see Letang win the award just so we could see if he would dive on his way to retrieve the trophy.

Seriously though I think Weber was the class of the blueliners this year. He's the best, most complete, defenceman in the NHL right now, IMO.

Tough choice between Lidstrom and Weber. Gotta give the nod to Shea, Lidstrom has enough....

Should be Weber HANDS DOWN. But it will probably be Lidstrom because voters like familiarity. Apparently voters think that you should have to deserve the award a few years before you actually win one.....and then the one time they don't deserve it in the future, they'll get it.....lol. Look at the teams of the players and Shea has the LEAST amount of talent on the three by far. Don't get me wrong, Suter and Rinne are good, but not when Legwand is your #1 center.....

Seriously, Visnovsky not even a finalist? And they take Chara instead?

Please, and people say there's not East Coast bias....

2 out of the 3 finalists are from the West Coast, and the winner will also be from the West Coast.

Damn that East Coast bias!

To be fair, they aren't from the West Coast, they are from the Western Conference. Nashville and Detroit aren't exactly a stone's throw from the Pacific.
