He still got paid...very well actually.

True, but the contract was pretty surprising. I was expecting a 1 year deal at best. Had he had a year like he did in 2013 and his agent not been a dipshit I figured he probably could've got 3 years $40m or so.

Lance McCullers, 21, has a 1.88 ERA, 1.00 WHIP, and 29/6 K/BB in his first 24 major league innings. Just threw a complete game vs. Orioles.

-------------------------

That is what a prospect is suppose to do out f the shoot. (I know Walker has improved, but he is still a one pitch pitcher basically)

The #SFGiants started the day w/ all 8 position players hitting .280 or better. Only NL team since 1900 with 8+ .280 hitters: 1930 Cardinals

---------------

Somebody who gets it. Giants and Cards are the two best organizations in baseball.

Ausmus: I have no information on anything for you.
Writer: Then why are we here?
Ausmus: That's the best question you've asked all year.

Too funny.

Cubs are gonna be a fun team to follow. Amazing what happens when a competent front office is running things.

Ya the best move 's could have ever made was sign Cubs (ex-Red Sox) GM. It all starts at the top....which is why we are always at the bottom.

Yep to see what they have going in year 4 of their regime compared to ours in year 7 puts it into perspective.

I think the Pirates might be the better comparison since they are 7-8 years in to their plan. They have tons of home grown talent contributing and are going for their 3rd straight playoff berth.

Ya I am sure it is because the Pirates went after all those one dimensional all or nothing players.

Well it looks like the Astros are coming back down to earth, like I said they would. They have lost 7 in a row.

Erik Bedard has decided to retire.

Bedard, 36, was working his way back from a strained back muscle and decided to hang it up after making three minor league rehab starts with the Dodgers' High-A affiliate. He'll finish his career with a 71-82 record to go along with a 3.99 ERA over 230 starts and 11 relief appearances.
