Second that. I still say he tanked it because he was pissed he got traded back to them when I dn't think he wanted to be here the first time around.

I don't think he tanked it, I think he just had a jerkoff as an agent who made him feel better than what he really is. A dude with that body style can't take as much time off as he did. Even with the Twins he looked like a shell with much slower bat speed

The problem I have with that, and I have heard that argument before, is that in spring training guys average between 40-60 AB's. So even after signing he had 79 AB's his first month with bad results. Then another 97 the next month with no improvement. 98 more AB's the next month with some improvement and then finally another 93 AB's his final month where it was his worst month of all.

My point is he had more than enough time to find it and even more than a spring training would give you. He said he didn't want to re-sign here and then was vocally upset when traded back.

Now maybe tanking was the wrong word, but not being focused or caring since he never wanted to be here in the first place is what I wholeheartedly believe. Good hitters get out 70% of their AB's when focused and happy so how bad would they be if not those things? :2cents:

Completely agree with that he should have been better but didn't care about becoming better. I guess my definition of tanking it is Randy in 98 cause he intentionally tried being bad where Kendrys didn't try to IMO. Either way there had to be something behind the scenes we don't know about, cause whatever issues one has with the front office generally leaders on the team try to straighten you out unless they are scared of (Randy) and I can't imagine Felix would have an issue coming to blows with a guy with how competitive he is.

Morales looked like he was in a state of shock during his 2nd stint in Seattle. All of it. "Why did Mr. Z bring me back when it's obvious I fucking hate it here" was what he projected, and it showed in every moment he was on the team.

You are dead on with that. My choice of words was wrong and your example of Randy (which I actually used last week on another site over the same argument) is better suited for 'tanking'. :suds:

over/under on Tampa getting the best of us with the erasmo trade?

Rays support Erasmo Ramirez to beat Orioles, snap skid (w/video) | Tampa Bay Times

The Rays entered Saturday reeling from a six-game losing streak but left relieved after rebounding with a complete effort in a 3-0 win over the Orioles.

"...Erasmo Ramirez had his best start as a Ray, throwing seven shutout innings in front of an announced crowd of 38,177 at Camden Yards.

"I'm really happy right now," Ramirez said after the longest scoreless start of his career. "I cannot stop smiling."

The rest of the Rays were beaming, too, after getting back to .500 (25-25) and finally capitalizing on a starting rotation that has allowed only two runs in its past 32 1/3 innings.

...Butler followed with a two-out home run in the third that gave Ramirez more confidence as he rebounded from his last start.

..."Erasmo, what he provided, was outstanding," manager Kevin Cash said.

I agree, but it's not like he was hitting well with the Twins in the first place. Plus, you'd think he'd have the incentive to hit well so he could get paid.

Worth noting that Ramirez still has a 5.53 ERA on the season. That's garbage. 1 good start doesn't change that.
