The best Women's golf tournament in the world. Overall first major of the year, and maybe the best golf course they will play on. It is basically their Masters.

Lexi Thompson and Michelle Wie tied for the lead to boot.

Reasons to be interested:

1) 2 Americans tied for lead and 3 outta top 5 are Americans;

2) At least a couple cute girls near the top to watch;

3) The golf course is one of the best designed courses in the world. Everything is there for a purpose and everything is where it is supposed to be;

4) Likely to see a first time LPGA Major winner today;

5) You get to see Michelle Wie from behind in her putting stance at least 18-20 times today;

6) The 18th hole may be the absolute best finishing hole in all of golf (men or women), and the final jump in Poppy's Pond is always fun to watch.

The only thing more boring than women's golf is women's ice hockey. Its unwatchable.

I watched a lot of it yesterday, ...Si Ri was leading for a long time, but faltered late, still in it, but I wonder if she has another strong day in her...Lewis and Kerr just got nothing going...the 2 tall phenoms are battling it out for their 1st major...should be fun today. Neither one putts well enough under pressure so I wouldn't be surprised to see Hull, Kerr or Feng win it.

Wie's putting stance alone is reason to watch!

Nope. I'd rather watch a top men's amateur tournament than the Dinah Shore.

and I don't remember Lexi being this attractive.

Maybe...Lexi looks a lot less, gangly, girlish...more woman like now, but I still don't think she can buy a beer yet.

She flat out spanked Wie yesterday though...I can applaud Wie for trying to play it conservative and sticking with it, 71 in the final round of a major is nothing to be ashamed of...the front 9 by Lexi just blew her away pretty much.

She had 16 birdies and 1 bogey in the last 3 rounds ..not one bogey the last round. The guys on tour can't hold a lead to save their life right now.

Absolutely she did...I will say imo, she's not a great putter but she handled the pressure putts well all weekend. Plus, I think Wie not putting much pressure on her made it a little easier to close it out without any drama....very key I thought was Wie not making birdie on #9...that made it a 5 shot gap between her and Wie and she was able to coast from there.

On the PGAT there always seems to be somebody giving chase...but Thompson's 68 was low metal for the day.

Okay, she did come straight out of HS...filling in a bit more these day. Thompson has the potential to be the American star player the LPGA tour really needs. I don't think Creamer will ever be much more than a good player out there.
