3.8 YPC behind an O-line rated what....29th in the league? We lamented the performance of our offensive line, yet it was still much more highly rated than what LAC trotted out. Behind a better line Gordon gets more than 3.8 YPC easy. I’m estimating at least between 4 and 5 YPC behind our 2019 line.

Heck, none of the o-lines SD/LAC had in front of Gordon were all that great.

The Ekeler comparison? He averaged 5.2 YPC in 2018. Gordon averaged 5.1 YPC that same season.....

Gordon does avg 4.0 YPC in his career though. That is a fact. Not sure how many times I have to tell you that. Your only reason for not wanting to sign Gordon is because he held out and because he averaged an incorrect career YPC.

Why not just admit that you wanted Phillip Lindsay and Royce Freeman in the backfield and save money at RB like Jess does? There is nothing wrong with that opinion. Instead you attack a guy like he is some worthless criminal and name call him. (scarecrow)

Shown up by a bum? Are you calling Austin Ekeler a bum or what is the meaning behind that comment?

The Chargers didn’t send Gordon anywhere. He was an UFA.

A lot of people agreed with Gordon’s decision to hold out, many teammates supported him. He only sat out 4 games. Le’Veon Bell sat out a season. You might be surprised at how much teammates support each other during holdouts because they all understand from a personal level. I am mot saying he was smart or dumb to holdout but I do understand it. Gordon himself said he wish he hadn’t. I respect a player who isn’t afraid to admit that he wasn’t happy with his decision after the fact. Most people wouldn’t admit that. Gordon has always been classy.

I respect the not wanting to pay him 8m aspect if that is the route you wanna go but I do have a hard time with the name calling and untrue facts as the reason for not wanting to sign him. That is all I want to say about that.

I am rooting for Royce Freeman as well.

3.8 and dust......:D

We also drafted Paxton Lynch to be our next QB, it doesn't mean that turned out as planned. Pretty evident the coaching staff isn't as high on Freeman as they were when we drafted him.

I still have yet to see someone give me a reason why Melvin Gordon is a bad signing from a on the field standpoint. Other then one person trying to act lke his 4.0 career YPC is a bad thing. It's like some people haven't seen him play since he entered the NFL.

I get the money part, if that is your issue, fine. If you want to wear Lindsay down then whateves.. If you wanted to draft another RB early, fine... If you were content with Freeman, then fine. But nobody should be hiding the fact that Melvin Gordon has been a very good RB in the NFL thus far. I get it's the money part from you JD.

Again. No RB has broken more tackles then Melvin Gordon in a 3 year span, throw that in with a solid 4.0 YPC, a good rec out of the backfield and a guy with great vision who can find the EZ. I see a lot of complaining but no breakdown other then someone hating him for no reason other then taking carries away from our beloved Phillip Linsday. (with an "A") ;)

Also, remember.. This is a 2 year contract, not a 5 year. We aren't locked in long term.

From a skill set I don't think it is a bad thing. From a putting together the best team possible it may kept us from signing someone at another position. At this point it doesn't matter. I hope he has the best 2 years of his career.

Go watch the GB/Charger game last year to get a feel about who Melvin is and what he and Philip can do.

having watched the games again from last year Philip really needs to improve 200% catching passes. He need to learn to catch the ball on the run. He was terrible and left 1st downs on the field. I know it was snowing but the KC game was a terrible catching game and they needed him to produce .

;) Three straight 3.8's and you have a first down - my friend. :)

He was not worth what we paid.not even close.

I don't like him as well. He walked away from his team I would have never even looked at him. I like players that love playing football first. This guy personalty sucks his first few years he was average at best and has one great year and so he pouts and throws a Tatum for a huge raise .

Let me ask you guys this did he live up to 1st round billing as a RB the average years? Did he offer back money when was average at best ?

Look I hope we get better out of freeman because Gordon is really average at best.

Just cause the paint is shinny does not mean the motor is solid.

I have never liked Wisconsin RB's and this guy is no different.

I get it I am in my boat all alone again oh well I will keep my distaste for him to myself.

Couldn’t have said it better. Was not a fan of the signing for those reasons. Plus rb is not a position you should drop a lot of money into unless you have that generational talent. Gordon does bring a short yardage game and a knack for the end zone, along with a decent set of hands. He also brings a veteran presence to a young team. I would’ve preferred that money go to the o line or db, but that’s me. I’m wrong more than I am right, and I hope this is one of those times. I don’t have any ill will towards Gordon, or even dislike him. I hope he busts loose

Nobody offers money back not in professional sports not in the real world. $10M a year offer by LA says yes he lived up to his billing.

money is the only true way in the NFL to evaluate worth.

I’m OK with the salary as long as he plays 16 games.

After much research the organization decided they wanted Gordon over the possibility of trying to target a RB.

Gordon is one of my favorite players anyways. He scores TDs . Something missing since 2014

Crash.,

Listen- Ok, you don't like the signing because of the money. Whatever...

But you really need to stop reaching for other things about Gordon that are not true. I have addressed this several times and you continue to make up stuff that isn't even true. Hard to respect an opinion when those aspects fall into place. Just leave it at the money part and move on.

Gordon has been a top RB in the NFL. So unless most RB' are average, then cool. Gordon has proven to be far better than Freeman. I am not giving up on Freeman, but this is a fact.

Yes- Melvin Gordon has lived up to his first round status.

Walked away from his team? He did what hundreds of other players have done. He held out for a contract. He came back after 4 weeks, his teammates supported him just like Denver players did when Chris Harris held out for more money in the same offseason. It is a business. They get it.

Personality sucks? I understand personality is an opinion, but Melvin Gordon has a wonderful personality. He is well liked by teammates, coaches of present and past. He donates money to charity. He gets out in the community, he smiles, he laughs, he loves football, he loves money like we all do. Move on! Quit reaching for things that aren't true.

Why would anyone offer money back in any business? Makes zero sense, do you offer money back when whatever job you work you may struggle for a day?

Melvin Gordon is way better then you give him credit for. Your take on him is just silly. I get the money part, but my best advise for you would be to let it go, stop hating, stop calling him names, you can dislike the signing. Nothing is going to change that, but quit acting like the guy is a criminal, with a poor personality and a me player. He did what hundreds of other players have done in the NFL career when they are deserving of a pay raise. It doesn't make him a bad person, it makes him a gambler. I think Melvin Gordon did just fine with how he handled things and still got himself 16 m dollars.

As CEH said, the team that he played for offered him 10m at one point before this year... Sorry, but you don't have a player for 4 years on your roster and offer him 10m dollars because he has a bad personality, is an average player and blah blah blah...

I feel like Freeman is a poor man's Gordon. He runs hard, catches the ball well, and blocks well. I think Freeman has the potential to get close to Gordon from a productivity standpoint, but has not really shown it yet. There are many players that wash out of the NFL that had the potential to be better then what they actually produced.

5 year 4,200yards one year with a 1,000 yards what a stud. He is average at best

You for some reason like his crap production whatever... 4 years of 3.5,3.8, 3.8, 3.9, and one good year of 5.2 and you crown him,I will not.

His hold out hurt him and his team.

Gotta agree with crash here. Gordon has a lot of mediocre seasons with one good season in the middle. He's a good receiving back; he'll make it so we don't run Lindsay into the ground. Other than that, I don't expect much from him.

I love how close Lock has become with Fant and Risner. Hoping he builds or already has built that same type of bond with Sutton, Jeudy, Gordon, Lindsay and the rest of the offense. You knew he’d probably be close to his own rookie class and I don’t think with his personality he will have any issue growing a full bond with the entire Denver team.

I went on a little jersey spree this week. Use to collect Jerseys like candy as a kid. Until this week the only current Bronco jerseys I had were Von Miller and Noah Fant.

Purchased the following

Drew Lock (Hardly ever get a QB jersey, Elway and Griese are the only other QB jersey's I have from Denver, also had a Donvoan McNabb from when I was a kid. I no longer buy a jersey if another team member like I did as a kid, unless it is for an autograph collection that I can frame on the wall.

Jerry Jeudy

Courtland Sutton

Bradley Chubb

Next up will be Melvin Gordon, Phillip Lindsay, KJ Hamler and Justin Simmons.

Why not get an old collection going again. It will probably wear away from me once the season starts. ;)

Looks like the NFL blocks a lot of these from being able to be viewed off youtube channel.

Let's try this one.

I currently have a Chubb jersey, and that is the only one I have currently on the team. My list I would like to have is:
Lock
Sutton
Simmons
Fant
