NO EXPERIENCE, NO PROBLEM FOR MATZ
Stephen Matz is only 24 years old, and he could send the Mets to the World Series tonight. His six career regular-season starts are the second fewest among pitchers who started in a potential Series-reaching game.

The Mets pitching staff is just too good

The Cubs' pitching is pretty comparable, your regular season team ERA and WHIP were both better than the Mets, and in a tougher division. You also had a better opponents' batting average against and more K's

On paper these teams are pretty equal, but in the regular season, you owned us.

The Mets are playing some really good baseball right now. Even the innings they don't score, it seems there is constant pressure on the Cubs. That wears a P and a team down. I've coached baseball a long time. One of our goals is 15 pitches or less an inning for our pitchers. DeGrom threw over 15 pitches one time I think last night and he is a strikeout pitcher. The whole series has been like this. Meanwhile the Mets are working counts and taking advantage of all mistakes.
