They're not in Philly, they will hang and show love to their guys. No one thought this was their year, they were figured to be one more year away. Young team, they will contend for a while.

OMG!!! another stupid ass Philly joke. Next year is never guaranteed in sports. Ask the Nationals about the term next year.

Look, this is how the playoffs work. The team with the best pitching tends to win. The good hitting teams don't hit off the good pitchers.

Cubs are not really a good hitting team.

They have power. But they were the worst team hitting against fastballs 94 mph or more.

This isn't a surprise

You seemed butthurt about the Philly comment. I ain't trying to start something, you gotta embrace the Philly rep!

I agree baseball is really hard to figure, but the Cubs have a good GM, a good manager, and a very young team. They should be in the hunt for a bit. Astros, KC, these are all teams I would expect to be in the mix.

Every year there's a big surprise team or two that plays way better than expected (probably the Astros this year, and the Twins) and one or two that plays way worse (Nats obviously, Detroit as well). So anything is possible, but isn't it reasonable to say the Cubs should be pretty good? They won 97 dang games this year...

TENDS to. And the Cards had some injured pitchers didn't they? Also, the shorter the series the greater chance for upsets and weirdness (5 games vs 7). Mets pitching looks better than 5th to me.

Are you contending that pitching ISN'T the most important thing?

Baseball in the 90s and early 2000s was ruled by Braves pitching. They were so set up to win in the regular season, rolling out there aces. Gas usually wins in October. I compare the Cards pitchers to the Braves. The Mets are a different kind.

It's the dumbass comments people say about Philly fans when something unsportsmanlike happens. As if Philly is the only city that's boos. Or the only fans that leaves early when we're disgusted or its a blow out. Unsportsmanlike and violence happens in every stadium.

Anyway, I agree with ur other points

Aren't the Mets known for throwing super hard too? Like their big 3 have some of the highest average speeds in the game don't they? Thor in particular I think is the hardest throwing starter in the game
