Yes. They did not "get the out," which is what you wrote (and what matters).
deGrom pitched a similar game to the fifth one in LA; gave up early runs but kept battling, limited the damage and got stronger as the game went on. Great job.
Wright busted out with 3 hits and another walk. Cespedes also got 3 hits and drove in a couple. Glad to see those guys participating.
You have reached Aggie levels of arguing when you write a thing that is demonstrably 100% wrong and you continue to argue. No, what matters is showing you why throwing all those breaking pitches was smart baseball. Conforto swung and missed 3X, thus striking out.
You may now have the last word.
And even the Duda, who'd been mired in a postseason funk had a hit and an rbi.

"They got the out."
They did NOT

Also - there were a few of you that said the Cubs will sweep. Anyone willing to eat some crow this morning?!?!?
Hammel has failed to complete five innings in three of his past five overall starts, going 2-1 with a 5.23 ERA. He's 0-3 with a 4.91 ERA in five career starts against the Mets, and he's allowed Murphy to go 6 for 11 with two doubles.
Curtis Granderson has also had success against Hammel, going 7 for 21 with two homers and two doubles.
Daniel Murphy has now hit lucky home runs in 5 straight games. Let's hope he hits some more lucky home runs in tonight's game.
Also, glad the stupid Ivy debacle didn't impact the outcome.
OMG, that F-in Ivy, I was losing it. You want to have f-in ivy growing on your outfield walls, yeah its been there forever etc etc, thans hows about adjusting the ground rules to todays technology, and have the umps use basic baseball knowledge and replay, to make rulings on whether or not 2 bases applies?
It should be at the ump's discretion. Conforto was already heading to the dugout by the time the ball reached the ivy.
