I thought he should've been WS MVP over Renteria.I truly wish him the best. He was an iconic Giant and one of the main reasons why SF won in 2010.
When the bases were loaded I said they'd still be down 1 after the inning, it's just the Padre way. Jay should have been sent on the Kemp single, put pressure on the defense.@Bolts
Bases loaded with 0 outs in a 1 run ball game........and your team can't even bring across the tying run

I doubt that he signs with the Giants. When was the last time they signed someone they were rumored to be in on, and when was the last time someone they signed was rumored to sign with them. It's more surprising that the M's wouldn't want to take a chance on him....him being from there and all.
The Pads would have been a decent fit as well, but I'm not sure if he wants to go to a team that's relatively hopeless, despite their gaping hole in the rotation.
Considering there are a number of teams reportedly interested, it wouldn't surprise me if he wanted to be more selective and choose a team that could make the postseason. With Ross out, Erlin with TJ surgery, and Cashner scratched from his start, he could have been helpful. The M's have King Felix, Kuma, Walker, Miley, Karns who has been solid, and Paxton if he gets healthy so the only possible need they'd have for him is BP. As seen by the Padres, it's good to have SP depth in case there are injuries but I guess they feel their depth is good enough. It's more surprising that the M's wouldn't want to take a chance on him....him being from there and all.

I think that using an extremely young electric arm that you have groomed as a starter as a RP is one of the stupidest, short sided things you could possibly do and I, for one, hope the Dodgers do it.
The Sox did the same thing with Sale, that worked out ok
And the Yanks would still be in last place of this "shitty division".Just looked at the standings. What a shitty division

It's more of an equally competitive division so far with all the teams playing decently enough but nobody pulling away. Odds are a team will pull away whether it be LA, SF, ARI, or the 2 most unlikely in SD and COL, just hasn't happened yet. Is it worse than a division like the AL West where the 3rd place team has a worse record than the last place Padres?Lol knew some idiot would bring up the Yankees. Did i say the Yankees were good? Doesn't change the fact that nearly 2 months in the season, the NL West is a shit division

Yep, which is surprising to say the least. It'd be awesome if SD could have a 2010 type of run where they're in the division mix all year, but the injuries piling up plus lack of offense makes it very doubtful. NL East is easily the best so far.Na the AL west is shittier. 3 terrible teams and 2 solid teams. At least all the teams in the NL West are average up to this point
