Greinke follows his 4IP 7ER debut for the DBacks with a 3ER 1st inning against the Cubs.

Poor Dbacks fans, their savior is having a poor start to the season.
Between Greinke being crap and Pollock hurt, their chances of contending are taking a big hit. Of course it's possible Greinke goes back to pitching like an ace, but this is not the 2 starts you want when you sign for 200mil.

Tough one today. I bet Tomlinson makes that play 98 times out of a hundred. It doesn't get more routine than a nice two hopper to second for a DP.

Yep. Chris Owings taking over the spot for Pollock is like hearing they are out of your favorite dish at the restaurant but you can have a steaming plate of poop on the house.

Grienke is supposed to be a top 10 pitcher. This is the kind of start to a season that Rubby De La Rosa would laugh at. Kershaw, Degrom, Arrieta...these guys look like they haven't missed a beat...how aces should look.

I'm sure there are nerves because he signed a big deal to be an ace on a team that wants to contend, if he's still pitching like this in May or June I'd start to panic.

Kemp loves hitting at Coors field, 7 hits, 3 HR's, and 10 RBI's through the first 15 innings of this series.

So after going scoreless in their first series of their season, The Pads scored 29 runs in their last two games and there are only 5 teams in baseball who scored more runs so far

First 30 innings 0 runs, last 15 innings 29 runs. Once the monkey got off their back they've gone nuts, especially Kemp. Coors field definitely helps, but I think the offense can be around the middle of the pack in runs scored over the course of the season. It's weird to think the starting rotation could be the biggest problem on the team, especially now with Tyson Ross on the DL.

Pollock didn't try to play through it? I don't think he's gritty enough to be a D-Back.

I'm not going to argue. I agree with this article and can point to the change in philosophy towards developing home grown players over spending in FA in order to build and develop their identity and nucleus. Guys like Pence enhance the nucleus already in place. They have, time and again, made the correct decision regarding who to keep, who to spend on, etc. The only "bad" contract is Cain at $20 mil per, but that contract almost feels like a THANK YOU retroactive contract much like they gave Big Time Timmy Jim and he is at least showing flashes of coming back from injury.

I fear articles like this. Eventually, that wil mean that other teams will start to try to pickoff the FO talent to head up their own orgs. I would hate to see Tidrow or Barr hired by an org to be their GM or President. Decker or Wotus as a Manager. Any of the unnamed guys that even we dont know about going to be the head of a scouting program.

I like it better when everyone looks at the Giants as a bottom feeder and none of our guys attract attention to be hired away.

Well, that's the only way they can watch the dogs in LA...

Or just pay for cable.

Well, time to beat up on the Dbacks. We'll have to deal with the Giants again soon. I'm realizing that no lead is safe against the Giants.
