???

Pulling out the "I'm rubber, you're glue" routine?

Nice.

What are you torn up about?

Oh wait. You watched the Padres game today, didn't you?

I understand.

I think the standings as they are now could be the same at the close of the 2015season with maybe two exceptions. SF might overtake Arizona for 4th and thePadres might finish in 2nd place ahead of the Rockies while the Dodgers win theNL West. I think the Rockies break down before long with old oft injured players.

The Padres and Dodgers should only get better after forming some chemistry as the come together as a team after so many changes to their lineups.

The Giants are without both Pence and Cain, two players they were counting on this season. They will get better, this team tends to play well when it matters and I fully expect the lineup and defense to improve with Pence's return in a few weeks.

LOL @ Lincecum's 85 mph straight fastball. His ERA just went from 2 to 3.5

Maybe the Giants can coax Doug Mirabelli or Kevin Cash out of retirement.

Haha. I would not be surprised if Doug thought his phone might ring, considering his specialty.

He longs to have have Zito's velocity at this point.

Too bad to see his decline. He was soooo filthy awesome early in his career.

I still love his delivery though. Same with Verlander. Dude was fuckin electric to watch.

Now is the time for him to become a knuckleballer.

Did you ever hear Hershiser talk about how incredibly difficult throwing a consistent knuckleball is? It's a gift not many have.

I have not, but can imagine. I'm still very surprised R.A. Dickey sustained enough success to nail down that Cy Young

His delivery was AWESOME. It was so unique.

The problem was that it required a gymnast to perform. He had that flexibility when he was younger, but now he simply cant do it. Not with any control, at least.

Saw El Duque battle David Wells at Petco one day about 6 rows back of home plate (not in the premium seats you see on TV but the stands). The differences were amazing. That ripple in El Duque's fastball even at the end of his career was murder on hitters and it was every single fastball. I had never gotten a real good look at a 2-seamer like that before. From his windup to the catcher getting the ball, it looked impossible to hit.

Ethier on Dodgers after deadline in your opinion?

Depends on what's offered for him, if someone is willing to overpay then I can see him getting traded but the Dodgers like his depth, especially now that Puig is on the DL and Crawford might be headed there as well. Unless a team offers a great deal, I think he stays with the Dodgers.

Pray for Archie Bradley. He left tonight's game after getting hit in the face by a line drive. He did stand up walk off the field under his own power.
