The Dodgers and D-Backs currently have a better ERA+ (132 and 137 respectively) than the 2016 Cubs (129). The 2015 Cards had a team ERA+ of 134.
Just amazing!!!On June 6th after losing to the Nats, the dodgers were 35-25 and 2 games behind the Rockies in the west. Since then they are 27-4 and 9.5 up in the west. Just crazy
And the Dodgers swept them like a dust bunny, wow.
Dodgers 7 1/2 games up in a division with 3 of the top 4 records in the NL... and the Giants are last. What a great year it's been for Dodgers fans so far.
Who could remember? As good as 1988? Just checking...

Sorry, he is "oldtimer". He probably gathers all the young folk around the campfire and tells tales of years long ago.
Might have to go back even further than that to find a Dodgers team this good.
Sorry, his post was right befor msg's, so that is where I got that...I'm not an oldtimer.
My wife is a HUGE Dodgers fan, I'm a HUGE Padres fan and life sucks right now. At least twice a day, she takes the TV remote, gets on the web and goes to ESPN to show me the standings in the NL West. SHIT!
I remember the 88 Dodgers and yes they were good. I think this year's Dodger team is better and deeper. Now if they go all the way is a different story. I get together and talk to my Dodger fans all the time. My favorite Dodger World Series team was the 63 team.Who could remember?

Accolades aside, no question this team is better than the '88 team. That was a spunky team, not dissimilar to the '10 Giants. The only HOFer was a 43 year old Don Sutton (though Hershiser, Valenzuela, Guerrero, Gibson and Sax are all in the Hall of Very Good). It was also just before their string of kids coming in.I remember the 88 Dodgers and yes they were good. I think this year's Dodger team is better and deeper. This team is in the middle of a youth movement while sporting at least 1 future HOFer, maybe more in AGone and all the stud kids.
Yes, right FUCKING NOW! I'm living in the moment. To hell with 2010.Right now? When was the last time the Padres were better than the Dodgers, I guess 2010. We're you even married then?

Hill's looking a lot more like the pitcher he was in 2015/16. Wood's health is always a concern, but he's been great even if he's benefited from some home run luck. Turner won't keep hitting .374, but he's been one of the best hitters in the NL since joining the Dodgers. I also wouldn't expect Bellinger to continue hitting home runs at an absurd pace, but he still has some insane power. The only question here is if the Dodgers are peaking too soon. They are pretty fantastic at the moment.
2017 Dodgers are the 26th team to win 64 or more games in their first 93.
*14 out of the previous 25 won the World Series.
*21 out of the previous 25 played in the World Series. The only teams that didn't were the 1904 Giants (won the pennant but were too pussy to play the Red Sox), 1942 Dodgers (held a 10-game lead over the Cardinals at the beginning of August, Cardinals went on an insane run going 44-9 to finish the season and win the pennant and WS), 1976 Phillies (swept by the Reds in the NLCS), and 2001 Mariners (lost in 5 games to the Yankees in the ALCS).
