Dodgers now the 22nd team in history to win 66 or more games out of their first 95. 19 of those teams won the pennant. Only the 5th time in the last 70 years a team has done this. 1970 Reds (Lost World Series), 1984 Tigers (Won World Series), 1998 Yankees (Won World Series), 2001 Mariners (Lost in ALCS)

I've been waiting for a Dodgers WS for my entire life.
You will probably get your wish this year. If the Dodgers and Astros make it to the WS, it should be an excellent series. This current Dodgers team is loaded from top to bottom, and have so many ways to beat you. Did anyone see the double play they made last night on the bunt by the White Sox when they tried to get the runner from second to third? Great fielding.

Chris Taylor didn't even make the club coming out of spring training but injuries to Andrew Toles and Logan Forsythe paved the way for him as well as Bellinger. Batting .307, second on the team only to Justin Turner's insane average.

Good info, thanks.

I have always liked Chris Taylor. IMO, the Mariners gave up on him too early.

Yeah, he's been pretty damn good. Jeff Sullivan had a pretty interesting piece on him about a month ago comparing some of his stats to a certain star. That being said, ZiPS and Steamer do project regression (and lots of it), but a guy with a wRC+ around 100 (league average) and plays OF/2B/SS/3B is still very useful.

Dodgers have probably won that little swap already. Zach Lee's no longer in the Mariners system and he's looking less and less like an MLB starting pitcher. I was gonna say that at least he has a hot sister, but I'm mixing him up with Zac Lee.

Dodgers win. In other news, water's wet, sky's blue, etc. They're now above .700.

And is it necessary for the Dodgers to trade for a good starting pitcher?

Nope. Trust me, I'm sick of hearing about how the Red Sox "need" someone like Sonny Gray because of Price's injury. The Red Sox starting pitching hasn't been an issue. If anything, the Red Sox need a bat or relief help. I have confidence in most of the lineup coming around, but I'm pretty worried about Xander's wrist.

The dogs are solid, no question. But do not judge your needs based on a couple games against the Giants. There is very little this team does well right now.

I get it, but the Dodgers have won 7 straight and don't need to sell the farm for a rental.

They don't need to because they can trade several players on their roster if need be. Guys like Hernandez, Toles, and Barnes could be valuable trade chips.

Of course, they could also just stand pat. I wouldn't blame them since there's a very good chance they'll win at least 95 games and they could very well finish around 110. All you have to do is reach the postseason. The Dodgers are a virtual lock to reach it.
