The AL playoff spots are pretty much set but what a week coming up in the final week of the regular season for the NL with so many teams still alive for the playoffs. I'm sure that all of us NL fans will be doing a lot of scoreboard watching this coming week.

We've got enough problems in the bullpen without adding Carlos to the misery. I don't know what has happened to him but he just can't get batters out anymore. I'll be surprised if Shildt uses him much anymore the rest of the way this season in any situation but hopefully he can get his act together in spring training next year.

I absolutely agree with you! I'll even add that Martinez shouldn't even pitch in any situation for the rest of this season because his mechanics are just way off right now to face any MLB hitting. Now for what we need to do right now: Win 3 out of 5 at home vs. the Brewers and we are in the playoffs no matter what the Reds do. If we can do this we won't even have to go to Detroit Monday for a double header which is my hope.

If you have to play the Dodgers then you want a 3 game series not 5 or 7. All you need is a few good starts and get it to the pen . I guarantee LA would've rather been playing Miami or Stl than Cincy or you guys

I agree with you about both Carpenter and Bader but it is always a beautiful day when the Cardinals win and the Cubs lose.

Not just that but all 5 of his at bats were swinging strike outs. We'll only see him in a pitch hitting situation tonight.

I hope the Reds and Brewers can win today. Even though I don't like the Cubs, I'd like to see the NL Central win all the series.
