Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain
The division's strength is growing exponentially.

The fact he is willing to not overvalue prospects is great!Cubs will still likely win the division and there's a real chance the Pirates miss the playoffs.
But these moves are also about 2019, 2020 and 2021 and right now this team is set up real nicely for then. And I like this new look Huntington who is willing to go hard for improvements.

I saw this on Twitter and thought it was funny
I did not hear what the Pirates did!!!I think the Pirates GM Neal Huntington has decided to make the Pirates contenders rather than pretenders.
I did not hear what the Pirates did!!!
tonights home plate umpire at tonights Pirates home game took himself out after suffering a concussion due to a foul ball.
this is getting crazy how many umps are getting hurt.
big series in Pittsburgh tonight. I think Archer will benefit by his move to Pittsburgh. no more facing Red sox or Yankee hitters in that aweful ballpark! While we will not make the playoffs this season, we should not have a losing record.
would have liked them to move Polanco instead of Meadows. I think Meadows was unhappy being in the minors. Polanco always looks like a 10 yr old in a 24 year old body! The Archer move was more about 2019, no doubt, but the Pirates are going to be good going forward.
That outfield and pitching staff are no jokes.
Been a while for me, but dammit, STL should be going for a sweep today. 16 LOB Friday was hard to watch. Bright side, a win today makes three series wins in a row. Baby steps.
I like Shildt's aggressiveness in moving runners, hit/run..
Unfortunate for Fowler's injury, but now we can see Bader and O' Neill with extened AB's
Mike Matheny is a good manager. I guess he was a scapegoat.Brock, Welcome back and please don't be a stranger here because I always enjoy reading what you have to say. You must have been reading my mind because I have been thoroughly enjoying Shildt's style of putting base runners into motion. In fact, I'll take it a step further. If the Cardinals can finish this season in an uptrend I think Shildt should be given strong consideration to be the Cardinals permanent manager for 2019. What do you think?
