I am sorry, but this ESPN announcing crew is gushing all over the Cubs tonight. Not mentioning all the outside pitches Lester is getting....Showed an A-Rod/Bryant interview 3 times.

I think that if you are paying A-Rod to be on the broadcast, they are going to showcase him.
As long as there is less Mendoza!

Mark, Thanks for the help your Pirates gave my Cardinals yesterday in Milwaukee!

What is your Yankees logo all about?

I hope tonight's game with the Twins at the Cardinals is not a big letdown game for the Cardinals but it sure does have the makings of one.

The Twins arrived in St. Louis, after a short flight from Chicago, way before the Cardinals finished playing 14 innings of baseball and with all of the energy the Cardinals put into the Cubs series to get the sweep this does not look like a good set up for the Cardinals.

I guess it will all depend on what John Gant brings to the party.

I could see this loss coming on Monday night but I sure didn't see the Tuesday afternoon loss coming.

Heal Yadi heal . . . . . and please heal in a hurry!

I can't believe that the Reds plan on putting Matt Harvey in their starting rotation! They claim that Harvey has a mechanical issue with his delivery. For their sake lets hope so. Their pitching staff can't get much worse.

Mark, Sometimes a change in scenery helps all players. If Harvey has a mechanical issue with his delivery a good pitching coach should be able to straighten that out for him.

LOL...Reds are horrible. And they are not gonna fix Harvey. So Reds...sad, but funny

They said he would pitch in LA, but I don't know that he will be a starter. As of now, the rotation is what it is. The rotation is weak but Harvey ain't gonna help at all, or so it would appear.
This wasn't a deal designed to fix anything. It was designed to get Mesoraco off the Reds books. The Mets needed a catcher, the Reds needed to get rid of Mesoraco and this was the easiest deal to effect. Mets get a real upgrade at catcher.
Arguably there could have been better deals made by the Reds, who were in a position of strength, it appears. I have no idea what other catchers were out there. Seems like at least one other team is in need of a catcher, but intra-divisional trades are tricky.
The sad part of this is still Tony Cruz, who might accidentally hit half his weight if he goes on a diet.

John, On a positive note for your Reds, they might not be challenging the 1962 Mets record after all since the Orioles and the White Sox both have worse records than the Reds right now. I know this is not very comforting but you don't want to take that 1962 Mets record away from them.

They won't lose 120. There is a distinct difference in the 62 Mets roster, which was a hodgepodge of old guys who didn't want to play there. Reds guys are playing for the future contracts.

This is the straw.....Matheny ha ssome love affair with Carpenter....Gyorko is hitting .320 and has been raking vs his old team. This STL team is going NOWHERE if Matheny and Mo are leading this team. It has gotten to the point that everyone sees the problem. Maybe Gyorko fucked Matheny's wife or kicked his dog.

John, I hear you and I'm glad you changed your mind about the Reds possibly setting this horrible record that the 62 Mets own. It's not just the Reds, a lot of players on teams that are out of it are playing for the future contracts.

Unfortunately I have to agree with you! I certainly see the problem and I don't know why Matheny continues to love Carpenter so much along with Wong and Fowler because none of them are hitting their weight. I keep reading over and over again about how great the Cardinals minor league system is. If this is true let's bring some of these minor leaguers up to replace the dead weight I'm seeing day after day.

Cards minor leagues is littered with OF'ers and pitchers. And you have to worry about 25 man/40 man rosters. Learn some baseball...this isn't a video game

Mark, Your logo says that you are a Yankees fan but yes, the Pirates have been the surprise team in the NL Central so far this season. All the Pirates have to do now is beat three other teams in the NL Central for the rest of the season.

What kind of welcome will McCutchen receive tonight in his first game in Pittsburgh wearing a visitor's uniform?
