Cardinals sign Ruben Tejada for 1 year 1.5 Mil to replace Peralta. Good move, a decent signing.

Cardinal off season signings are dropping like flies. Tejada has a quad in jury and now back up catcher Brayan Pena needs knee surgery. Maybe they need to call the Brewers.

The Cardinals always seem to fill in the holes

I wouldn't be too concerned.

All I know is that the entire designated starting rotation for the Reds is starting the season on the DL. That means we get Simon Pasta, some guy named Straily and Herman Melville ... plus the OD pitcher has pitched 19 professional games -- ever. Lucky we don't need a 5th starter until the end of July.

Watching the Cardinals and the Parrots, both have kick-ass bullpens. If that holds up, I hope the Cubs have a plan.

Pretty sure, with their line up, the plan is to out score everyone else. So far, Cubs 15 runs, everyone else 1 run. I will keep you posted.

I tend to pay attention, but thanks. It's hard to score 15 runs a game unless you are the East Side Dairy Queen 10-over league champs.

Sorry, was adding up the scoring they've done so far in 2 games which is 15 and allowed only 1 run. So more like 7.5 runs a game. :thumb:

Reds appear poised to win all but 18 of their first 23 games but it would be nice if the offense, which looked pretty bad on Monday, can get these young guys a few early runs. The pitch count is going to be brutal anyhow and the bullpen is ... unfortunately, not the best one in the league.

Finegan isn't going to be a starter all season, I think, since the bullpen has only 1 lefty, Cingrani.
That maybe depends on the shelf life of the rest of the "rotation."

The rest of the week in Cincy looks like weather from Hell.

Looks like the Reds magic number is down to 160.

Ouch, Cubs up to 9.6 runs a game, on average. I know it isn't sustainable, but Offense will not be an issue (Capt. Obvious here) this season, as it looks. Post season, dunno.
