It's nice to see Hazelbaker getting a shot in the majors. Always thought he was an intriguing prospect with the Sox. He has some great speed and decent pop.

Not so much today, they finally faced a team with a good offense as well....speaking of piling on...STL had 5 dingers tonight. Not sure why Reds pitchers kept throwing fastball. StL/Cubs Monday thru Wednesday and the Cards miss Arrieta and Lester.

Good to see how missing Lester and Jake is working out for the high flying Redbirds. Man the bats are hot in St. Louis.

The bats are hot but the D and pitching isnt really where it should be. The Cardinals have given up 23 more walks than the Cubs so far.

Going 1-5 against the Pirates and Cubs to start the season is not what you'd like to see but you look over at the Cubs and you see Maddon, Lackey and Heyward, a bunch of young guys and an ace and they resemble 'Cardinals baseball' more than the actual Cardinals do. STL has a 'shots on goal' approach towards wins where they'll win a solid number of games with a lot of good players but they have some growing to do this season.

I don't think the Pirates or Cardinals are playing as well as I thought at this point so if I'm a Brewers or Reds fan then I have at least a little bit of hope.

Aledmys Diaz is making Cardinal fans forget about Jhonny Peralta, now he just needs to clean up his defense which was really ghood in the minors.
