Cubs are batting .251/.326/.445 and averaging 4.92 R/G since the ASB. They've hit more home runs in the 2nd half (79) than in the 1st (77). In 34 fewer games.

I haven't seen the Cardinals play this poorly in years. They need to snap out of this funk quickly or theyll be one and done

Blue Jays and Pirates have comparable records over that time, with both having tougher schedules.

21 of those last 43 games for the Cubs are against teams at least 10 games under .500

Very true, Id still take the Cubs over them in a series because of having a better ace at the top of the rotation. BUT Pittsburgh is scary good. Not sold yet on the Jays because they really struggle in close games ( however many of their gaems are blowouts )

Lets not allow Scrubbie fans get ahead of themselves...Arrieta, one year wonder, is better than Cole? Nah...and it isn't a series you will be playing, it will be a one game, winner moves on...good luck with that...

Arrieta had a 2.53 ERA last year, and had a far better season than Cole did in 2013/14.

And the Jays aren't just beating teams. They're bludgeoning them. 33-10 in blowouts. They're 37-15 in the 2nd half with a +116 run differential.

You're assuming neither team is going to win the Division

He's the better pitcher, but 1 game is 1 game.

You can have home field, the better pitcher, the better hitters, hit the ball harder.... and you still have a 40% chance to get bounced out of the playoffs.

I'm hoping the Pirates can take the division, as the current one game playoff format is nonsense.

The Pirates are on pace to have the 2nd best record in all of MLB over the course of a 162 game season, but are currently slated for a one and done scenario.

It's wrong.

They need to either make the opening round a best of three or seed the division winners and two wild cards by record.
