The Cardinals are truly a broken team right now. They don't even belong in a man's league.

I cant believe we took the first 3 of the series.

We the 3rd best team in division on paper, but what the hell that doesnt mean we cant win it.

Your rotation makes you the best team in the division. Roidier and Craig have come back down to earth and the Cards are very exposed right now. Roidier hit .268 in July with only 10 RBI all month.

Roidier? I doubt anyone can accuse this team of roiding. This is not a power hitting team. Its a team that hits a heck of a lot of singles.

Best division in baseball? Maybe? Tough to call that with the AL East having the Sox and red hot Rays, and the AL Central top 3 on hot streaks...so maybe just the best division in the NL? Sure.

Honestly, if there's a bullpen in baseball that can handle it, it's this one. I mean, it obviously does affect the overall bullpen, moving up guys into more important roles...but over all it's still one of the strongest out there. Before Grilli went down, our best reliever was Melancon. Can't wait to get Grilli back to get the depth back, but there's no shortage of talent in the pen.

We have help in the minors, too. Hughes is back up and has had Major League success. Victor Black has nasty stuff and is a reliever in AAA. Welker and Reid are also hanging out in AAA, and both are pretty solid. And we have a number of AAA starters who can work out of the pen, like Cumpton, Irwin, and Pimentel (the latter also having filthy stuff).

Morris will regress, and Watson is what he is, but Wilson and Melancon are as good an 8th/9th as anyone. Mazarro and Gomez are both good long men who can also pitch in pressure spots occasionally.

2 1/2 games separate the Pirates, Cardinals and Reds. D'backs are still barely in the WC hunt after beating the Pirates and now they play the Reds.

holy crap...Pitt and Cards are both making moves...if the champ doesn't come out of the NL this year...then just give up. Pitt has been extremely good on the waiver wire....like they want to go all the way...what a concept?

Wow, the Pirates and Cards are tied atop the NL Central with 16 games to go. You can't ask for better than this!

Great game by the Dodgers and a special thanks to the Giants picther who took his ego to the mound and convinced himself he could strike out Adrian Gonzalez and paid for it.

If the Pirates play even with the Cardinals for the rest of the season, they take the Central. I think 11-5 does it.

Other than one shaky outing, Axford has been reborn in STL. When players put that "Birds On The Bat" on their chests, they seem to rise to the occasion. Not all, but most.

The guy's pitched a mere 5.2 innings with the Cards, and has had just 1 1-2-3 inning. Way too small a sample size to say he's been "reborn"
