It seems to me his long ball accuracy is much betterthan Mullens'.
LOL, true. Of course that isn't saying much

Yes. let's see if we can at least get them on the field. We definitely need Richburg and Kittle to come back as well.
That's what I was hoping.
True. Mullens' deep ball accuracy is terrible. I don't think he's ever completed one as a pro.LOL, true. Of course that isn't saying much
I have a bad feeling Alexander will begin the season on IR. I think the 49ers are bullshitting about his progress so they won't look so bad for signing him.Our front 4 is SO deep, it's scary...we will have to cut someone who another team WILL pounce on. I like what I am seeing from Greenlaw so far, Warner is a stud, and Kwon will have a fast defense to settle into so it takes the pressure off of him to make every play like in TB. Our CB situation is interesting but even if Verrett doesn't play, Witherspoon showed better play by the end of last season and Reed looks like a beast as nickel back. Safeties need to stay healthy, but again, we have enough versatility to cover that spot IMO.
Me too. He's been a pleasant surpriseI REALLY like Mostert...he is great with the ball in his hands.

He's supposed to be an excellent player so I'm hopeful but the 49ers' record with signing injured players has been awful.Long term it may not be a bad thing for the team...the LB depth is suspect at best...we need one or more of the UDFA to step up and develop into the depth we will ultimately need.
Define "deep ball" for Mullens....for me, it's anything past 20 because that's when his balls flutter.
40 yards plus. To me 20 to 25 is intermediate range.Define "deep ball" for Mullens....for me, it's anything past 20 because that's when his balls flutter.
It doesn't seem to be just his arm strength on long balls as he over-threw Matthews, its his inaccuracy on those throws that bothers me. The area where his arm strength bothers me is the mid range ball to the outside that seem to hang up there for a while. He seems very accurate on those though. That is the reason why Mullens was not drafted. If he had better arm strength he would have been drafted.

I'm confident though that he can do a credible job as Garoppolo's back up

See it all the time. At least twice a game.Wow.
You don't see many throws go 40 yards in the air, from the entire NFL.

Already saw one in the first game. Aaron Rodgers 47 yard bomb completion40 yards in the air? don't think so.
Hope you're not counting hail mary's.
