Was just reading about this from another source on Facebook. Apparently the final year of the deal is voidable by Foles if he makes the Pro Bowl or team performance(I guess if we win, he opts out for more bucks). If he plays as well as we hope, it'll likely only be a one year extension...

Oh yes. I have been stating all along that, if this guy stays healthy, this may indeed be the QB we have been looking for since Kurt Warner left.

This is rather alarming I can understand the deal. I sure hope he is what the Rams think he is.

Paying about $8 million for a starting QB who's not on a rookie deal is practically unheard of now. It's a great deal because it's cap friendly and if he plays well we have him under control for two more years. It's not a long enough deal that if Foles doesn't live up to the hype, we won't be screwed by having him locked up long term.

Yep, they had to add the extra year with contingencies because he wasn't eligible for a 1 year extension due to his original draft status.

I thought he regression was way overblown.

I find it hard to believe that a QB who looked as solid as he did won't get it back on track.

Nick's O-Line in Philly was decimated by injuries last season. He was picking himself off of the ground on almost every drop back pass play whether he made the throw or not. If the Rams can protect him and give him time he will take the team to the playoffs.

OK the season is here. The Foles deal is fine. The fact that Bradford is gone is good. I believe that the way the Rams drafted running the rock is the deal anyway and Foles will be asked to not just manage the ball but to get it to the 4 wideouts we have. I think he will be just what the Rams need and passing up the 49ers and Cardinals will be the key to the season.

While I will agree that this should be the best team we have had in years, I still think our schedule is pretty tough. 8-9 wins would be good, anything more would be icing!

:think:I'm expecting 10-6 or better....anything less sends Fisher down the road so he will have them ready.
Of course I think I said something like that last season.

They now have a QB that can get them to the playoffs.

While the schedule is tough, good teams overcome that to make the playoffs. Those first 5 games are challenging, but they also set the tone for the season. 3-2 or better will be a good sign of things to come from this team.
