Apparently John Force's massive crash hitting the wall at over 300mph after the engine of his funny car erupted at the Virginia Nationals has resulted in a head injury that has become serious after not initially believing it to be serious. He has been moved from ICU to the Neurological ICU in the hospital.

They were discussing this as a positive today. His body has recovered enough from the trauma that he was able to be transferred from Trauma ICU to Neurological ICU. The doctors can now concentrate on the head injuries.

Brittany Force has withdrawn from this weekends competitions. That would tell me that the head injuries are very serious.

Yea, I wonder just how extensive his head injuries are because many of the articles out there are characterizing that as a long road ahead. This one might force him to retire, no pun intended.
