and I'm hoping the Kings can help the Pens tonight

....but truthfully, the way the Pens are playing, I don't think it'll make much difference if they get the 2 or the 3 seed (neither are catching the Rags). unless Fleury can somehow magically steal the series (did I really just type that?), Pens will be one and done.

The Islanders are having a very hard time scoring goals right now. 1 goal per game isn't going to win a playoff series against anybody. At this point I'll be okay if they get the 8th seed. I just want them to make the playoffs.

have either of them played games in the AHL during this Dubnyk run? if not ... as i said yesterday if dubnyk goes down ... yikes!

Neither of them have. Yeo said as long as Dubnyk tells him he's good to go, he'll be back there. It's not like they have a choice. They dug that hole and they just have to keep going with the hot hand.

What I'm hoping for this offseason, is for Harding and Backstrom to retire. Kuemper just wasn't ready to play every night. Too bad. Everyone had high hopes for him, considering how well he played last year before being injured.

No offense to the Kings/canucks/flames(the west is loaded) but I'd rather play the winner of that series than the winner of blues/blackhawks.

And it goes without saying the one team I absolutely don't want in round 1 is the Blues.

We've matched up well against all of those teams... except for Anaheim, who beat us 3 times in regulation this year, and are 1-5 in the past 2 seasons. They are the team I am least comfortable with in the first round.

Can't just look at a small sample of final scores you just can't. A few games doesn't determine how you match up. All 3 Ducks games we controlled the play for most of the game and lost by 1 each time. 2 of them were very early pre Doobs. The other we just couldn't score and dumba had a fluke TO.

Chicago has ended our post season twice. The Blues are a complete and dominant team. They outshot us like 42-19 lol. They also have scored on our PK. Preds have Rinne that's what wins playoff games.

That whole pod is dangerous. We have played great against the flames and canucks. It's about the big picture. Potentially avoiding St. Louis til the west finals or completely if they are upset.

Give me the west pod and I'll take my chances. The conference is loaded but that's the best bet. No gimmes either way.

We lost the oilers and Avalanche at home while beating blues, preds and caps on the road lol. Again you can't just look at small windows.

If you reference our d not allowing 42 "good shots" well most nights we only give up 22-26 so think about how many fewer good shots that is.

Our strength is our depth thru 4 lines and the blues can match that. Our weakness is a awful PP and streaky scoring Preds/blackhawks can negate that.

Match up wise and personel wise the pacific is the way to go. Heck it's why they are probably sending 3 compared to 5 from central.

If we go out west the blues/Hawks may play first round. 1 is forsure out then the winner could potentiall lose to the Preds/jets winner.

Just cause we beat the blues twice in one week doesn't make them a better match up. The Penguins are 1-3 vs the stars and Avs combined with the win being 1-0 in OT. Think they would really rather play us?
