Jagr?!?

This award seems like Moore's to lose anyhow, but the Jagr nomination seems really strange.

Jagr's nominated on the "dedication to hockey" part....but I think it would be very hard for anyone to overcome the (understandable) sympathy vote for Moore.

Geez. Jagr gets a nod for being old when there's a plethora of guys coming back from big time injuries?

I mean, he did lose his wife, took a year off, and came back like he never walked away from the game. Not saying it just because he is a Ranger. I've loved Moore since his early years here. I think he deserves the award.

I think Malhotra is destined to win this

career threatening injury ... he was out of contract to start this season ... he had to take a 25 game AHL (not NHL) PTO ... when the canes signed him it was at the league min on a 2 way deal ... and he perservered all the way

plus a Malhotra win will be just another thing to make Mike Gillis look dumb ... and that has happened alot lately

Two worthy candidates and a guy who has to keep playing at age 51 to pay gambling debts.

What I want to know is how in the hell did Jags get in over Kris Letang?!? Dude comes back from a freakin' stroke and you give the nominee to the 40 something has been with bad gambling debts? Give me a break.

Yeah, there's plenty of other choices. Even just going on old guy alone there's Teemu.

Letang came back from a stroke
Harding is continuing to try and play with MS
Stamkos' leg broke in half
Marty St Louis was left off team Canada

IT'S ABOUT PERSEVERANCE PEOPLE

Exactly!!!

And giving Jags a nomination for persevering at the blackjack table is hardly worth awarding a trophy for.

The Jackets nominated Nick Foligno because of the personal nightmare he went through early in the season when his daughter was born with a heart defect. And I kind of thought that's rough but not sure it's worthy of being a finalist for the award. He went, handled the personal issue and came back. Like you would expect any new dad to do in the same circumstance.

Then Jagr gets a nod. For being old. Above others who should have.

Oy vey

All worthy candidates. I'm clearly biased so I like Moore being up there, think he may even win. But Harding battling MS, playing when he can, idk how much more dedicated you could be? :noidea:

Letang, and coming back from his stroke.
