Maybe the league is finally taking concussion symptoms more seriously?

Do you know if the league looks at the style of helmet that each player wears when suffering a concussion to see if there is a design flaw? If a certain number of players have concussions while wearing the same style helmet, does that helmet become banned?

Not exactly. All of the helmets are tested. The NFL bans the helmets with the lowest safety results. I believe Antonio Brown's preferred type of helmet was banned whilst he was with the Raiders.
