Everyone expects this highly-touted rookie QB to come in a play like Stroud. Problem is that NEVER happens. Stroud beasting out his rookie year is like Josh Allen's transformation. You rarely or never see it. Look at most or all of the great QB's, most did not have good rookie season let alone great.

Some of the more recent rookie QB's to perform a high level are guys like Kyler and Baker. Then you have Marino, RGIII, Wilson and Big Ben. Even Luck and Cam had good seasons but a ton of TO's.

Jayden plays on a top 8 bad team. Caleb might have one of the worst OL's, that in itself will lower all expectations, at least at first. I remember Baker in his rookie year have a pretty bad OL and he threw for 3,700 27-14. What Stroud did is borderline impossible.
Stroud is an exception to the rule but when Stroud was coming out everyone was saying that the QB class was just meh but next year has Caleb Williams and he'll set the league on fire. Caleb Williams had Andrew Luck hype and it merely died down to Trevor Lawrence hype after his final season.

Herbert was exceptional his first year imo. It happens. Honestly Lamar was pretty solid right away.

A decent number of rookie QBs play well, tbh. Like every other position, though, it takes 3 years to judge the player in the system and with QBs their window is so long that they have a long time to find a system.

Very good thing our starting running back is just a fullback... err wait a minute.

Guess it's time to scavenge some practice squads. Steele probably ain't it.
Deneric Prince seems like a fairly obvious guy to bring back. I thought he had a decent chance to make the roster

The biggest problem I see with high draft QBs coming into the league is hype and unrealistic expectations. Every little thing gets scrutinized and dissected and over evaluated. Some catch on quickly while others take some time. And some go to organizations that are QB purgatory, lol.

Now THIS is funny...

When it rained, it poured last week for the Dallas Cowboys in a blowout loss to the New Orleans Saints. The Dallas defense had little resistance to provide Derek Carr, Alvin Kamara and the Saints offense as they routed the Cowboys, 44-19. The devastation was so substantial that the Federal Emergency Management Agency accidentally sent out a release declaring a “major disaster” for the state of Texas, according to NOLA.com.

On Thursday, an email was sent out by FEMA with the headline, “President Daniel Largues Declares Major Disaster After Saints Beat Cowboys in Dallas.”
Not long after the initial message was released, a second email was sent asking that the prior message be disregarded.

“Today, the FEMA Press Office inadvertently sent an email to be used for training purposes only,” the release said. “We apologize for any inconvenience. Please direct any questions to the FEMA Press Office.”
