I'm not a lawyer, but supposedly it is done to try to set where an appeal would be heard. Like businesses always want cases heard in the 6th court of appeal, I'm sure there are friendly circuits to the plight of Brady. NFL trying to keep it in NY.

I don't get the "destroying evidence" thing. If I'd have thought my phone was a real problem I would go bust the side window out of my car and then report how some sumbitch stole my stuff when my car was parked on the street. When you are suspended you aren't allowed at the facility at all I believe. If it's upheld he can't even come to the game 1/ SB ceremony.
