So let me get this straight.

the NFL is considering penializing taunting.

IMO trash talking should be penialzed 2

Trash talking doesn't show anyone up. The fans don't hear it and they don't care. That's the difference. Fans don't want to see that taunting shit, hence the penalties for it. It's really that simple.

See, this is whats weird.... Do this facing someone and it is completely disgusting, ejection worthy trash, but turn around and do it and its all fun entertainment!

And that statement doesnt mean that i condone taunting. Just that the line is already à bit rediculous, keep moving the line and it becomes even more so.

I don't think the line is ridiculous at all. Don't make the opposing team or player the focus of your celebration. It's sort of like in baseball when a player doesn't like the way the ump is calling balls & strikes. Bitch & talk about it all you like but if you turn around and get in the ump's face about it you've crossed the line.... a line I have no problem understanding.

Yes, because coaches, players and fans don't approve of holding penalties either and they aren't the ones that held so why should they be punished for a TD called back. Lets fine the player that held instead.
Now this doesnt make any sense.
If a player taunts on his way to the endzone. it didnt affect the outcome of the play.
If a player holds another player it very well can affect the outcome of the play.

In a perfect world, there would be an unwritten rule of if player X taunts, that other team has a freebie to clean his clock somewhere later in the game, without penalty. But since that will never happen. The way it is now is fine. But the NFL is all about image & making good examples for kids, so I am fine if they fine player X a pct. of his game check to curb the feeling to taunt. But in no way should they take a TD from a team because of taunting. That is simply ridiculous.
