Anyone pick up the 2014 NFL magazines yet like Athlon or Lindy's? Just wanted to mention a few interesting topics and predictions.

Lindys has Philly in 1st and Dallas in 2nd. They picked Denver over Green Bay in the SB.
Athlon has Philly in 1st and Dallas in 3rd. Athlon went with Denver over Seattle.

Now a couple other things I found interesting because I love these magazine during the boring off season.

#1 Lindys had Dallas as the #5 OLine. You have to give it to Jerry and his boys for fixing this long term issue.

#2 Lindys had Sean Lee as the #2 "MIKE" and Athlon had him 6th.

3. Lindys had Jason Peters 2nd, Tyron Smith 4th and Trent Williams 12th at Tackle but Athlon had Trent Williams 1st, Jason Peters 2nd and Tyron Smith 4th.

4. Now get this because I was shocked. Athlon had Zach Ertz as the 5th best TE in the NFL. Huhh?

5. I think both had Evan Mathis as the best Guard in the NFL and I just dont see it. He was a 8 years journey man before he went to Philly. He can move extremely well but he never seemed dominant to me.

6. Athlon has Dez Bryant as the 9th best WR. Come on. No way.

7. Im not saying this just to seem like Im being fair but they have Evan Mathis as the #1 guard, Kelce as the #2 Center (Fredricks 10th and 8th), and Peters as the #2 Tackle but it seems like our line breaks down a lot during the season. Philly has a really good OLine but just not dominating enough to rank all these guys so highly.

Heres the write up on Dallas for those who are interested, "The Cowboys are never bad enough to get top draft picks but not good enough to please their fans. Tony Romo coming off 2nd back surgery in less then a year, so its time for the Cowboys to protect him. THey can win with a running game, but that means more of a commitment to Murray. THey should with a solid OLine that added Z. Martin. Look for him to play RG. Dez is a franchise WR who needs to mature... T. Williams is a capable compliment, but Dallas could use more outside play makers. D is a real concern, with Dallas ranked last in total yards and 3 times punctured for more then 45 points. Hope is that rookie D Lawrence becomes the nest D Ware. Secondary is horrible with Mo Claiborne under orders to pick up his play. LB S Lee the teams best defender, but is too often hurt. How Melton recovers from an ACL determines how much they miss Hatcher. Really need a playmaker at back end of D, though CHurch was impressive last year.

Don't get why so many people still sees Fitz as a top 5 WR. He hasn't been one for years

I agree 100% with that. Would you really want Fitz over AJ Green? Come on. THats nonsense. But that still isnt as strange as the Zach Ertz being the #5 TE in the NFL. A rookie season of 4 TD's and 450+ yards equates to being the 5th best TE? He didnt start in Philly. He is a talent and I know they are high on him but let the guy prove it before ranking him that high. He shouldnt even be in the top 20 right now.

Just for your info, the other guide (Athlon) had him at #2? HUhh? THe went like this:

1. Megatron
2. Fitz
3. AJ Green
4. B Marshall
5. Andre Johnson
6. Demaryius Thomas
7. Josh Gordon
8. Alshon Jeffery
9. Dez
10. Julio Jones

You have to remember that AZ's QB (Palmer) threw for over 4000 yards and I think FItz has 900 last year. THe point is they have a effective pass game. When you have an effective pass game where your QB throws for over 4000 yards and your #1 WR walks away with 900 yards I just cant fathom how that leads to you being the 2nd best WR in the NFL. Maybe 6 years ago but now... NO FREAKING WAY!

Jeffery is the young guy I like.

My #2 is Julio Jones. Guy is just flat out impossible to cover. If he ever stays healthy he'll never come out of anyone's top 3 again.

Still Absurd. In that scenario, Rodgers would be 4th??? And Rivers out of the top 10??? A joke either way

I figured the problem out with Rodgers off the list. They had two columns for QBs. The list I put up was "pocket passers", below they had "Mobile Passers" and it went.

1. Aaron Rodgers
2. Cam
3. Luck
4. Russell Wilson
5. RG3
6. Kaepernick
7. Foles (A 5.4 forty classifies him as a mobile QB???)
8. Alex Smith

I agree that Dez is top 10. Not top 5. Bryant just does not have the great speed to crack the top 5. I also have never understood the love afair with Fitz. Now if I want a TD from inside the 10 yard line then I have dez rated top 2.

It's pretty funny. :laugh3:

funny or ignorant .. take your choice

Personally I think Rogers is the best in the league

but that can be debated ... however doesnt matter how anyone ranks the top 4 qbs

Rogers Brady Manning and Brees are without question the top 4 in the league

Seeing now that they split them into those two categories feels like they wussed out, or perhaps tried to appeal to the masses by making 20 QBs into top 10 QBs. I'm not a fan of that approach at all.

Pocket QB or Mobile QB Rodgers should have been on both lists.

I didn't really get the splitting up of the QBs. Who cares what type of QB a guy is when ranking them. Why not split the other positions too?

Agree. I guess it gives them more to write about.
