James White needs to follow around Shane Vereen for a while.

I'll take it. Gaines and Coleman are going to be steals for someone else.

Johnson is also another former basketball player. He has KR experience too but I don't think very much (I'll check).

Also, go watch him against Sammy Watkins and it was kind of embarrassing for DJ. That's another thing that stands out in my mind. Not that that's a huge part of the overall discussion but it's a note that sticks out.

Sounds like this guy is all press coverage or he's toasted in off coverage....

I don't know if I'll say he's toast. Well, right now he'd probably be toast. What he needs to work on is that when he makes his transition he has to get around faster and more naturally because he doesn't have the long speed to catch up. The fact that he isn't a very good transitioner (not a word I realize) only makes his lack of deep speed more noticeable.

I wanted a Florida CB!!

Me too. But I can live with the Dontae Johnson pick. He'll take several years to see the field as a starter, similar to Tramaine Brock.

Now we have a crowded defensive back unit. Morris, Eric Wright, Perrish Cox may not make this team.

Damn! Seahawks got a PLAYER in Kevin Pierre-Louis. He's a tackling machine. If he can stay healthy and get a little stronger then watch the heck out!

Ed Donatell is one of the best in the business so if he can be coached up into something than Donatell will be able to do it.

When the draft started i and many of you all were under the impression the niners would do alot of trading and inevitably wind up with 6 or so players to add to a crowded roster. After seeing how this draft is playing out i think the front office is adding an influx of young players with rookie cap friendly contracts to compete and possibly take those backup roles from some on roster. What do you all think? Personally i see alot of players from last years roster being cut or traded by end of preseason.

Speaking of Florida CBs, Jaylen Watkins just seems like such a Eagles kind of pick. That was good value w/ the first pick in the 4th.

Brent Urban to the Ravens is a bit of a reach at this point. He has length, though, which I like.

By the way, the Steelers are taking this draft to the wood shed & doing horrible things to it.

Wonderful pick in Dontae Johnson CB, NC State. Hybrid S/CB in the Culliver mold with versatility and size. Our DB pack just got some thump to go with their finesse style covering abilities. Glad we addressed our sizing issues in the secondary vs. the bigger receivers the league is trending to.

There goes Tom Savage. Now on to the Aj McCarron and Michael Sam drinking game.

Yeah, and I am starting to subscribe to the notion that Baalke doesn't mind bringing in THIS many guys and then later on having to sort out what to do with all of them and taking on the risk of exposing them to other teams if they have to release them. I wouldn't scream this theory too loudly but I'm starting to think he/they don't mind it nearly as much as I do.
