ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the NFL and NFLPA are "getting close" to adopting the new CDC guidelines that would reduce the quarantine time to five days from 10 days for all players, including those who are unvaccinated.​

Unvaccinated players like Carson Wentz would then luck out and be eligible to return within a five-day period if testing positive at the beginning of the week. Assuming the revised COVID-19 protocols are agreed upon by Tuesday, numerous players that have tested positive in the last week could be removed from their organization's COVID lists ahead of Sunday. Stay tuned.

Wow that has huge playoff implications. No wonder Philly is keeping all 3 Qbs in separate rooms this week--the road to the playoffs may be just locking down your starters in a bubble at this point.

The amount of 3rd string (and even lower) players having to play and compete with so much on the line at this time of year is disturbing. It's starting to look like the '87 strike year with the amount of no name replacements. Frankly, it's taking something away from this year, entertainment wise. The NFL needs figure this out asap. If we go into the playoffs with a Josh Johnson having to start for Lamar or some such other thing, it would be a shame. Just my 2 cents.

Zimmer added that there "wasn't any consideration" of starting rookie Kellen Mond. Mannion, a seven-year veteran, will instead make his third career start in the frozen single-digit tundra of Lambeau Field on Sunday night, replacing Kirk Cousins (COVID) in a must-win affair. His last start in 2019 resulted in two interceptions and an eye-popping 6.0 yards per attempt for Minnesota. Managers should (slightly) downgrade Justin Jefferson given the woeful situation under center.
