They said since there was no recovery of the fumble, the play had to stand.

Makes sense in a messed up way. They blew it dead and official picked up ball so you can't really blame the players for not picking up the ball

The ball sat there on the field for 5 seconds before the ref picked it up/ When has the ref blowing the whistle stopped players in a situation like that? They play for the replay, not the whistle these days.

Once the whistle blows and the ref signals incompletion, the play is over.

Otherwise every play would be chaos.

doesn't matter if players go after dead balls. once the whistle blows, that's it. dudes aren't watching the replay going "oh, well he WOULD have recovered if we didn't blow it." it's done.

the ref choked big time by not allowing it to play out. it was under 2 minutes and would have obviously been reviewed.

Not a good sign to have played better that half and be trailing. INT's and easy INT drops killed us that half. And dumb penalities. We should probably be up 6-0 intead of trailing 6-3.

You are 100% wrong. If there is a clear recovery that team gets the ball. It happens nearly every gm

That stripped catch at the 5 was unfair for both teams. Refs don’t blow the whistle the Eagles get the ball and it’s 3-3 at half. But nobody got it so it should have been Bears ball at the 5 even though it would have been totally unfair to Philly.

I'm just saying, it's not really anything the Bears have done to have the lead, mostly just Eagle fuck ups. Which is why I said it's a bad sign because the Bears will probably play better next half.
