There's a chance ATL might have some emotional letdown after finally winning in the playoffs.

Having them narrowly squeeze by Seattle is much better than them blowing them out.

I agree with this. Their confidence can't be very high after almost choking the game away. Seattle started to physically dominate in the 2nd half (just like the 49ers did in the 2nd half against Green Bay). That's where Atlanta will lose this game...they'll wear down in the 2nd half.

He is their best linemen in both run defense and pass. The Comparison of importance to the Seahawks is valid to Smith for the 49ers. Not in talent IMO

Exactly. I'm comparing the players importance to the team they play for. Not comparing who is better between Clemons and Smith. The dropoff from Clemons to Irvin was HUGE for Seattle.

ohh, i thought Clemons was just a terror in the pass rush. Didn't think/realize he was a run stopper for them too.

Yep, maybe not knowing who the next opponent allowed them to rest more and when they didn't rest, they could spend the time not worrying about the other opponent (since they didn't know who it was) they had time to go through our game with less concern for the next game. I thought that in the bye week, we knew it was going to be the Packers, so that didn't make preparing early less pragmatic. Now, if we had prepared defensively for the Seahawks before Sunday's game, that'd have been a waste.

We know the Seahawks too well. We have all their 411. If anything the coaches knew better and was doing their research on the Falcons.

Obviously, I'm responding to this post, but in the future, I can just "like" the post to acknowledge that what you said in your post was right or that I got your point rather than having to post to repond or acknoledge. When I first saw the "Like" and "Share" options, I thought I'd never use it and it just made the post look busier. I don't think I'll ever use the "share," though.

Red Bryant has him at run defense. Still I agree with Ray in that he is a marquee player for them on that front. The game would have been very different had he played.
