Love Campbell as a coach but a lot of those gambles were just stupid.

Being aggressive is great but gambles in football should be calculated risks and he forgot his calculator because he did some poor calculation on some of those gambles.

Feel for the Lions fans because that's just an absolutely gut-wrenching way to lose a game. Better to get completely blown out than to lose like that.

Maybe, but I'd rather my team show they belonged and that they could be back next year vs getting embarrassed.

Every team can go back and look at bad decisions that cost them games. Not saying he didn't fuck up but it's dumb to say he's why they lost. In the end they lost because the Niners were the better team, and playing at home.

When you run for 3 TDs it means he doesn't have to throw for them.

I hope this shuts up the Brock Purdy haters - they love to bash him as a weak QB, as a system QB who’s carried by the talent around him, and that’s total crap - Purdy is a very good QB and he proved it leading this second half comeback, he made some impressive plays and is now in the Super Bowl. Purdy is stellar and is NOT a “system QB” - he was one of the NFL’s best QB’s this year IMO and he’s now in the Super Bowl. The Purdy haters can fuck off.

Uhh. Besides for a couple scrambles I thought Purdy looked horrible. He had a couple that he just sort of threw up for grabs and prayed and they ended up working out. And the Aiyuk catch that turned the game around should have been a pick. Take just that fluke catch away and the whole narrative changes. Make it the interception it should have been and they would be killing Purdy on the talks talkshows right now.

I think he's actually going to be great. I think he was pressing too hard trying to prove things and you could tell he was feeling the pressure. But his play didn't prove anything today.

The other factor was the Niners are a better team, and at home. Detroit easily covered.

I don't think that they proved that tonight unless we include the head coaches. Those would have been 45 & 48 yard attempts and the facemask catch was a fluke.

No this is better. They proved they're a very good team for the first time since I've been a fan. Agree about Campbell.. nobody is going to be screaming for his head. He's a big reason for their success.

Purdy was hardly “horrible” - he had the one awful pick, but was good for the most part, threw for 267 and ran for 48. Purdy is a strong QB, and he led the Niners on a great comeback.

On a similar note, I see some people blaming Goff for the Lions loss, and that’s bullshit, the Lions choke job is on Dan Campbell and the D.

Even Great QBs have lucky moments before one of Brady's superbowl wins in the Championship game a Chargers CB intercepted a bad pass, but ran it back about 30 yards then was stripped instead of going down sooner the ball was advanced a little from the previous spot of the ball for the Patriots. There was like 1:30 left om the game and the ball for the Chargers would have been about Midfield. So Stuff happens even to the best QBs
